I think one of the dumbest things that ever happens to me at the library is when people give me their drivers licenses to look up their cards and then spell their names out loud for me.

"What flavor?"
"Size X."

Repeat, 2-3 times...

"I'll have flavor Y."
"What size?"
"Size Y."

Whenever anybody asks me for my last name, I just hand them a credit card or something, because it's way too difficult to spell out.
