While not computer-y, I might be getting a used Alesis Micron; three keys don't work unless you really press them, but I might be able to fix it or just play with the lower two octaves. I've heard it compared to the MicroKorg.
Yeah booooiiiii the blue version is $5 cheaper than the red and black ones.
I've heard good things about the micron. My microkorg is actually out of service right now due to my external sound card manufacturers STILL HAVING NOT WRITTEN windows 7 drivers.
I wonder how well the GMA 4500 can handle HD content. You might want to go with an Ion-powered netbook if that's what's important to you.
Also, you can save money by buying a computer with Windows XP and then just paying $30 for Windows 7 Professional, since you're a student. Most computers seem to cost upwards of $30 to have Windows 7 instead of Windows XP, so you'd come out ahead.
The AS1410 handles 720p just fine, I'm not too worried about 1080p...you can't get most newer netbooks with windows xp. When windows 7 was released most manufacturers switched over to windows 7 without raising their prices at all. Not that it matters to me, dvc is a member of MSDNAA so I get windows 7 professional for free.
I didn't get one cause I ordered before they instituted it...would've been awesome since I ordered a 4 gig USB flash drive later that cost about that much. On the other hand, they're out of stock of the 1410 SU2300's now so I couldn't order one anyways.
I'm digging your netbook OS reviews. I plan on dual booting xubuntu with mine.
