I think after you take care of this business with William, you both need to start doing some research into these things that your visitors told you. And you need to find out whether these things Andrew said about the chip are true. I mean, I thought the original removal of the chip itself wasn't what caused the cancer - the chip was just keeping the cancer at bay, and it was the virus that Scully was exposed to during her abduction that caused the cancer. I hate to heap more worry on you, but wouldn't the removal of this second chip allow the cancer to return...unless some time in the past, the virus and branched DNA in her body was fixed somehow.
Maybe it IS true though, and the fixing of the virus and branched DNA is what allowed William to be conceived.
