AIM Bot Scam

Some AIM Bot/Scammer has been sending me messages. I do not know this person and do not want some unidentified stranger calling me "sexy" at work. Does anyone know how this scam works? (I know my interface automatically makes anyone you talk to a buddy -- even if it is a "Who is this?" message -- and does not let me remove someone from my buddy ( Read more... )

Even though you cannot remove people, you should still be able to block individual screen names.

Blocked.

Apparently, the bot was set to AIM me with sexual comments every time I log in. It was rather annoying.

Oh, so if I continued, it would have asked me for my credit card number. I was wondering where the scam came in. (Not using AIM, I was wondering if people on my buddy list had access to any information about me.)
