Passport Photos

So, the last time I renewed my passport, I went into the post office and they took my picture. This time, I went in and was informed that I had to mail in my application, along with a picture.

Where can I get my passport picture taken?

Well, I would have said Cameras Inc, but they're closing.

Most CVS with a photo place will take a passport photo. There are also instructions on the web for what size to take yourself and then crop appropriately.

They wouldn't for a renewal(*). I tried. All they could do is point to a stack of forms and tell me that when I collect everything, seal it in an envelope, and stamp it, they will mail it for me (as will any post office or postal box, assuming I use enough postage).

(*) The rules are different if it's been expired for at least 5 years -- you have to start over with a new passport instead of a renewal. They will handle that in person.
