BURNING FIGHT

around this time about 8 years ago i was walking down the streets of royal oak with my friend stuart talking about how much music meant to us, how bane echoed the thoughts in our brains and made us want to scream our lungs out for a better world and clearer head. i remember walking until it got dark only to realize we'd walked well over 7 miles. so ( Read more... )

I really wish I could have gone to Burning Fight. I've been flat broke all year, and by the time my tax return came, it was already sold out.

I've been to plenty of shows and left feeling the same way you do. Getting into metal and punk gave me something to identify with. Friends that I've had for 15 or 16 years were brought into my life because of it. It's had a very large hand in shaping who I am today, and I couldn't be more proud of it. I find that the older I get, the more I love it. I might not go to every show possible like I used to, but it's in my blood and I don't see it leaving anytime soon.

I wish there were more people like us 'round these parts. ;)

i somehow stumbled upon a ticket by way of a friend who couldn't go anymore. i really needed a weekend like this. i am so disenchanted with life lately it makes me doubt the choices i've made throughout it... but this really solidified in my brain that i am who i am and where i am for a reason.

i'm glad that you "GET IT", haha. it seems like there is a serious lack of people who care at all about their roots nowadays.

hope all is well.

Was this the show that took place in Chicago?

I'm assuming so with Unbroken on the ticket.

My friends who were in Desperate Measures called me out of nowhere the day before this show and they ended up staying at my house and hanging with me and my peeps for the weekend. I would have never considered these dudes close friends. Though you and I rarely engaged in intense conversations we did have a solid friendship and you could compare to your friend Stuarts reaction to you on myspace to how you did not call your old friend when in his city.

I stoold outside during Converge.
