I had alot of fun at Otakon, even though now that its Wednesday and my feet are -STILL- killing me. Note to self: Never walk so much where there is NO carpet.
Yeah it got out of hand ( I saw the Wonderwice that went with you guys :3 ), but it was fun for the most part. Hopefully next con it will just be Arrancar >>; And friends ahoy ^^
I think I'm heading to Matsuricon ( which is a small one in Ohio ) and possibly Youmacon (sp?) in Michigan around November. I've been to ALOT of cons this year, so if I'm going to them I need to be making money XD!
Welcome back! If I could actually sew, I'd love to do an arrancar cosplay with you... Yours is freaking awesome! But I completely fail. So I'm going to content myself with my Yachiru and Hitsugaya cosplays. TT.TT
Looking through those pictures makes me SO JEALOUS. I should buckle down and stop buying books, and start sewing. And maybe a few months after I had the costume done, I could put a moratorium on books again and save for a con. -_-
I was overall very happy with the book, except for the epilogue and Snape. Since when were the sprogs more important than showing how life got on the year Voldemort fell? How the Ministry recovered? The funerals? It just doesn't fit the tone of the rest of the book. And Snape-- well, I've seen the "loves Lily" theory thrown around before, but I'm disappointed Rowling was as slipshod as the ff.net lowest common denominator; not enough follow-through on that idea, too many loose ends.
Draco is more or less understandable, though. Rowling's formula has never allowed more than a chapter's deviation from Harry's POV. He had no chance to stand up and be characterised some more in the Death Eater meeting, and Harry had no chance to interact with Death Eaters until the battle.
Now you see.. I liked the whole aspect to Snape and Lily. I thought something was off that he'd never mention her and the whole thing behind Harry having Lily's eyes. The only thing I didn't get was why Snape played along with Voldemort after the fact and how he dies so EASILY. I mean.. give me a break.
Maybe if enough people bitch she'll re-write the ending XD
Well, that rat bastard Dumbledore (j/k) did guilt him into trying to make up for Lily's death by spying on Voldemort, or rather, waiting until he came back and then bringing him down. Thirteen years of hearing that, of course he's going to try to put it to rest in the end. It's just a pity he was too ashamed to admit it to Harry, or we might have gotten more out of him first. Ultimately he was sacrificed to give Harry an edge, via Voldemort's overconfidence, and that worked for me. He made it up to his school friend before meeting her in the afterlife.
Somehow I doubt it. XD But there is always, always fic. Some of which I will be writing, now I have the freedom of finality with no sighting of Caradoc Dearborn. :)
