personality: [Some parts taken from my Amat app, as well as my response to this rp advice meme]

Firstly, as head furniture and butler to the great endless witch Beatrice, Ronove conducts himself impeccably. He is generally polite and amiable to all he meets, and is quick to engage others in conversation, offering guests a place of cookies or a cu of tea to ease their minds. Such skills are needed to entertain guests until the host can make her grand entrance. Also in keeping with his butler nature, he is able to remain cam and composed in most situations. He's generally more level headed than Beatrice, and checks her more rambunctious nature, even going so far as to pull her aside when he feels she needs a little time to calm herself. Of course, there are moments where even he can be caught off guard. If he starts to get serious then it's time to pay attention, because something is surely wrong. Even so, he will try to diffuse the situation before getting too serious.

But above all Ronove is a demon, and with that comes a penchant for tricks. For Ronove this manifests in his teasing nature. He enjoys getting a rise out of people, his master Beatrice and Battler being among his favorite targets, but anyone who is easily annoyed can become a quick target for him. He is rarely outright cruel with his teasing, being that his teasing is done generally among people whose company he enjoys. The banter--the back and forth--is the part he really enjoys, so he prefers a somewhat more hard-headed opponent, someone who will at least try to keep up with him. He keeps his tone of voice polite and refined even with his sarcasm, which often makes it difficult for his "victims" to respond with good comebacks, which only amuses him more. He has the amazing ability to take someone's negative qualities and throw it in front of their faces in the politest tone possible. He really does like to have fun, even if he takes his job seriously. Still, he won't overly tease those who would be too easy to tease or might become upset by it.

When engaging with people whom he is not on as good terms with his speech turns more serious and polite. Despite his usual playful nature, he is capable of being serious, although he likes to avoid physical confrontation or fighting if at all possible. He will try to defuse a situation through words first before fists. Of course, this approach doesn't appeal to all people he meets.

He is also very skillful in ways other than serving snacks; at one point he even took over the witches' side of the game against Battler in Beatrice's stead. He performs his duties well, even those duties which Beatrice doesn't explicitly ask for but she is most surely in need of. Even though he is a demon, he is not as outwardly cruel with others, like humans. He has respect for those who have shown themselves worthy of it, and he is able to show some mercy in the face of their sacrifices. He seems to have a sort of code he follows, and while he has a duty to serve his mistress, he doesn't compromise his beliefs in the process. After all, that's not in his contract.

abilities: He is a demon, and with that comes demon powers. However, not much is known of these powers due to tendency to avoid confrontation. He does fight a little in the game in a fist fight with one of the humans, Jessica. Most of this was just playing with her, and it's implied that he has powers much greater than those he showed. He may retain some physical strength in hometrail, but most of his powers will be gone. This really won't concern him much.

He can also use the red text of truth, just like Beatrice, although he uses it more sparingly and probably wouldn't use it in the context of hometrail even if it was available.

His more practical skills for hometrail are his butler skills. He is Beatrice's head furniture, and thus it is his duty to run the household. He also has much experience from his previous contracts. He is also quite the cook, his cookies being a greatly sought after item, but he can cook other things as well. Baked goods are definitely his favorite, however.

any plans for your character here? Not particularly. However, the caravan will surely need a good cook. As stated before, he also has skills as a head butler, so he might be able to help organize some of chores needed to keep things running.

possessions: Nothing but the clothes on his back and his biting wit.

samples.
sample journal entry:

Ah, I think I have it working now. Curious, these "junograms." Easy, instantaneous communication, although not nearly as satisfying as appearing out of the black next to certain someones!

However, I don't think I'll be doing much of that here. There seems to be some kind of damper on my magical abilities. That certainly makes leaving this place difficult. I suppose I'll have to rely on my charming sense of humor, pukukukuku!

Speaking of leaving, it seems we have to work together to make our way back home. I look forward to working with all of you. If you need help with any of your housekeeping tasks, don't hesitate to ask me. I have a bit of experience, puku. Milady, if you're here I know you won't hesitate to call for me--I'll be along in time. Try not to get to get into too much trouble before I arrive.

third-person sample:

IIt had been a few days since he had come to the caravan and already the place was just like home. That is, Ronove found himself doing much the same job he had been doing back in his world. Was he surprised at this development? No, not really.

Today Ronove found himself in the kitchens, pots and pans boiling all around him and an apron with the words, “I ♥ Grandore” around his waist.

“Add a little pepper here. A little bit of spice will keep everyone spry,” Ronove said, reaching over the person next to him to grab the pepper and adding just a touch to the pot before them. He gave it a quick stir, then raised the ladle to his lips, giving it a small sip. “Yes, that’s better. Do the next batch like this as well.”

There were a number of good cooks on the caravan, true, but they couldn’t all be working at the same time for every meal, so it had been decided to give lessons to a number of others to keep things going smoothly. Well, smoothly might not have been the best way to put it.

Just then, a smell wafted to his nose that was not entirely pleasant. Then, a stream of smoke started to drift by him. Now, that didn’t seem like a good sign.

“Oh no!” he heard coming from someone across the room. “What did you do?” someone else shouted back. No, smoothly was definitely not the best way to put it.

Ronove threw down his spoon, grabbed an oven mitt, and walked briskly (things weren’t bad enough yet for a run) over to the source of the commotion. He expected it to be his mistress Beatrice who had started the mess, but luckily (or unluckily, since he wouldn’t be able to tease her about it later) it wasn’t. Instead it was one of the younger caravan travelers who now stood there quivering as a poof of smoke came out the sides of the oven. He turned off the oven, waving the smoke away from the oven and from the girl’s face.

“Sweets must be cooked sweetly and tenderly,” he chastised the girl softly and she nodded vigorously, still in a state of shock from the ordeal. He gave her a smile to assure her everything was alright while discreetly reaching a hand up to turn the dial on the temperature down to its correct setting.

He then opened up the oven, waving his hand as another cloud of smoke burst forth from within. The charred remains of what was supposed to be a batch of cookies stared back at him. He angled his body to keep the girl was seeing the mess she had caused.

“They’re fine,” he assured her, “but they need to cool down now. Can you go help them with the soup over there?” he asked, pointing to a place far across the room. She nodded and ran off. Ronove gave a sigh, pulling out the tray and dumping it straight into the garbage.

Well. It looked like the dessert would still be up to him.
