Google changed their privacy policies lately. Which spawned a bunch of articles with the intention of teaching the less-technical on how to protect themselves from Google's Datamining:

They had a chap from Google on BBC News this morning. As best as I can tell, he spent 6 minutes not actually giving straight answers and instead going on about how wonderful it all is. I think if they just said a little more about how their system works and how much information is actually passed to advertisers then there'd be a lot less fuss over it.

I pursued this for fun because I'm not upset about them making a unified privacy policy, it only makes sense from a "service provider" standpoint. I only wanted to see what they were doing and see for myself if all the hoopla was warranted.
