It looks like my cell phone is probably salvageable, and the important data (i.e. address book) is definately salvageable. Yay. I'll be on a loaner phone for a week, but that's cool, as long as I am wired.

I signed the contract today.

Good party, company's year end schtick.

Had one guy asking me about the secret of the foreigner's large penis, haha. Enough alcohol.

Anyway, hopefully immigration doesn't get in my way now.

Employment contract is being prepared. If all goes according to plan, I shall sign said contract on the 17th (this Friday). Within a week or so following that, the remaining supporting document copies from the head office will be handed over to me, which I can then toddle off to immigration with, and trade them in for an Engineer's Visa ( Read more... )

Tokyo Metro found my wallet. I picked it up today. I <3 Tokyo. All the cards were still there, except the SIN card, which I later confirmed after getting home that it was never in the wallet in the first place - it was stored in my room with the other cards that are as useless as can be in Japan (like my health card). Feels good to finally be working again. It feels weird though, in that I'm not officially hired. Feels good to finally touch AutoCAD again, too, as it is one year less a week or so since I last touched it.
