Shooting Up Like a Weed

The good news is that I worked around the bug. The bad news is that I kept putting off updating this and kept playing the game, so there's no way for me to play catch-up with a regular story. So we're going to move family by family down the Winslow/Nichols line to update you.

First let's visit the home of the first Nichols child, Elisa. Michael and Elisa are doing quite well for themselves these days. Their careers are rocketing and they've fulfilled their dream of four children. Elizabeth is now a teenager. She's still trying to find herself, but has a lot of friends. Maggie is on the verge of her 13th birthday. Little Anthony -- or as the family calls him, Tony -- is in elementary school and doing quite well, with lots of friends to keep him company. The youngest of the family, Martin, is in his not-so-terrible-twos.

The Angloes are constantly on the move! There are the kids heading off to school, with Elisa and Michael....celebrating?

Moving on to the next Nichols kid, Erin. Jimmy and Erin were living with her parents in Salieri. However, as they advanced in their careers, this situation might prove embarrassing. So, bidding Ian and Maria a tearful goodbye, the Phoenixes left for downtown. Jimmy's term in the military had expired and he threw himself into civilian life as an actor -- doing quite well in that regard. Erin's career was also doing quite well. Toby matured into an angst-filled teenager (although no one was sure what he was angsty about). He also established a reputaiton for himself as a romeo, and countless hearts fell for him. After a few years of sowing his oats, however, it seems that he might settle down for one young lady -- who seems to have stolen his heart while he was trying for hers. Nevertheless, he sneaks in a few dates on the side. Gil, for the moment, is lost in his brother's shadow.

Jimmy and Erin now live downtown. While we're in the neighborhood, let's see how Chad and Isabella are doing, shall we? They're leveled out in their respective careers and are currently paying attention to their family. Chad is quite the big man on campus -- high school campus, anyway -- although he hasn't turned into much of a romeo. Despite most stereotypes about jocks, Chad stayed with his childhood sweetheart, Denise. Karen and Ashely, the two Nichols girls, are in elementary school.

Chad and Denise, practicing mouth/mouth resucitation on one another. Ah, how studious those Nichols are!

Moving back to Salieri, Jessica and Dawn have had by far the most turbulent post-college experiences. Both of them experienced guy trouble early on. Jessica's ambitions were not limited to a husband, a few buns in the oven, and a charming Cape Cod with a white picket fence. She was a Nichols, and she was determined to take life by both horns. She was far too independent to be held back by Mark, and their relationship did not end on good terms. It was ended rudely by a physical confrontation. Mark moved in with his mother and the engagment was terminated. But Jessica's ambitions didn't rule out family. She loved being an aunt, and knew she'd like being a mother even more, and arranged to have herself impregnated. She didn't know, however, that she was pregnant with twins -- girls named Jordan and Kaitlyn. She had also adopted a little boy named Randy. While the arrival of three children at once must've seemed daunting, Jessica attacked it with the same determination that she went after a tough buisness deal. After Dawn moved out (see below), Jessica asked a friend of hers, Alyssa Daniels, to move in, and so split the workload.

Salvatore had started college late and was a year behind Dawn. While she waited on him to finish school, Dawn moved in with Jessica. They made great roomates, of course -- they had shared a room as children , then teenagers at the Nichols house, then lived in the same house as college students. Jessica's career took off with a roaring start, and soon they were very much in the money. Dawn had always been a bit laid back, more fun-loving, than the rest of her straitlaced siblings, and she became all the moreso while living with her sister, due to their affluent lifestyle. Soon, she came to the realization that there were better fish in the sea than Salvatore Cardoni -- he had always been strange, and their relationship seemed to be empty of SOMETHING -- whatever it was, something vital. They didn't keep in touch much, and Dawn began dating, becoming a hedon in every way. Salvatore showed up a year later expecting that she move back with him to his country, and things went downhill. He left, she stayed, and for a while the relationship seemed over.

After a while, her conscience got to her. Some part of Dawn still did want a family like she used to, and she knew that was impossible with the caliber of her current dates. Salvatore, meanwhile, hadn't really enjoyed going back home with Dawn, and came back. They were married, and moved into the house Christopher had initially bought for himself and Brianna. After the birth of their boy, Lance, though -- things seemed to unravel, and their romantic relationship is currently on again, off again.

And so that is where the Nichols kids are. But what of Ian and Maria, the leaders of that proud clan? Refusing to accept an empty house, Maria opened their home to Josh and Opal. Josh was Maria and Marco's half-brother, although he didn't really know either of them. He looked forward to getting to know both of them, and being able to convert all of their earnings into savings would be very useful. And so ends the catching up for Maria's children.

Marco's children weren't anywhere near as busy. Christopher and Brianna had moved to a bigger house to accomodate their bigger family. They had two kids -- Luke and Lacy. Luke was in middle school, while Lacy was just beginning elementary school. Christopher had also invited a co-worker to move in with one of her cihldren. Juliette Monty, former heir of the Capp-Monty fortune, had fallen into hard times, and she and her son Kyle needed a place to stay. Christopher had an apartment built above their garage, and soon the two of them moved in, providing a playmate for Luke and a source of contention bettween Christopher and Brianna. Caleb and Heather were still living more or less like college students. They had plenty of money from their jobs, and plenty of time to..well, you know how Romance sims are. Long story short, there were two delightful little accidents named Joel and Jade that arrived from all that romancing, and both of them are still toddlers.

Last but certainly not least is Joan -- Tobias' youngest child. Joan, the baby of the Winslow-Nichols pack, was doing quite well. She and Laura had built themselves a nice home in Salieri and adopted twin girls, Keavy and Edele. Joan's proudest accomplishment was getting her two darlings into private school.

And thus ends this update. I apologize for the lack of details. There are many developments in the family which I will expound on the next time I do a legitimate entry, which shouldn't take too long. But now I have a place to start from, and won't worry about having to explain where everyone is at.
