Not to carp or cavil, but...

Perhaps April 15 is not the best day to have the stories due? It makes sense with your time line, but many folks are tied up with taxes and financial concerns in the weeks before the 15th. Just saying.
Having had my whine, let me say that I'm looking forward to the new topic for the challenge. Have you mods settled on something yet?

i'ma add a second "hmmm" to the timeline (which is a great way to show how excited i am about the second round, no? >.<), not about taxes because i'm not american and work on an entirely different schedule, but because i know that april is getting to the end of the post-secondary school year and into finals -- which might be a potential deterrent for some participants.

I'll definitely bring up the timing with the mods. There seems to be no time that's good for everyone, though. We're planning on twice a year ficathons, Feb/March/April and Aug/Sept/Oct, so we're hoping at least one of those times will work well for the writers. *g*
We actually liked the month long sign-ups during the last ficthon. We got a steady stream of sign-ups during most of the month. Mostly, it's just simple and easy for us to remember, though. *g*
And I'm glad you enjoyed the first one! Yay! I know I had a blast!
Also, we actually used the last week of sign-ups to get the prompts ready to be sent out, so sign-ups will probably only be three weeks, depending on our scheduling.
