XCM - The Studio Sessions - Day 2

Yup, Day 2 finished.  We plowed (and I mean plowed) through all 10 songs twice, and a couple of them three times to get the tightness and sound we needed on some type of digital media.  So, listening to it, without any EQ, any compression, or any effects (and a really lame vocal click track) it sounded pretty damn good.  LOL  I'm anxious to get ( Read more... )

I'm like super jealous of you right now...wish I was in a band!

My closest I came to doing this was in high school. My dad's best friend had a country band that played the Eagles, Elks and Moose clubs throughout central Ohio. I loved the music (they did a lot of Martina McBride, classic country and fun stuff you could dance to), and my high school band director was the drummer. The female vocalist often had problems making it to practice, although she could always make the shows, so I got to stand in for her at rehearsal. They offered to let me sing back up and do some songs at the shows, but being a 16-17 year old, I didn't want to hang out with my dad and my vocal teacher, I wanted to screw my current boyfriend.

They never recorded then - I think I would have been terribly interested in the process if they had - but recently put out a CD WITHOUT a female vocalist :(

If I could do it over again? I'd totally rock the FOE #376!
