what is it about us that makes our happiness important than our own. why does our happiness matter more than anyone elses. just a thought...

my first thought was that our own happiness is foremost for survival's sake. and then i kinda wondered, what does happiness have to do with survival at all?? i'm not entirely sure, but if you werent concerned for your own happiness at all, i dont think you'd really *do* anything. i think alot of what we do is directing us toward what we think (unconsciously or consciously) will bring us the most happiness. and if we put everyone else's happiness before our own, how can we call that living our own life? i'm not even sure it's possible to do that. i guess what i'm saying is human nature is inherently selfish.

i dont know. good question tho. :)
