What gets me even more is that the reports are coming out that everybody basically bolted from the cafeteria. Even if nobody is armed, it's hard to think that a large group of people would just turn away and let that happen. I don't think I could live with myself if I walked away but, then again, I've never been in that situation.

There were a number of articles that I found on it, most of which were US-based. Granted the fact that it didn't get *any* media attention at the time still says a lot.
Keep in mind that these were students...they're still studying to think for themselves and aren't qualified yet to do so without a professor's (or the appropriate TA's) approval.
