SHUTTER SPEED [Chapter 3]
CHAPTER 3
“Eh? Where did they go?” Hyukjae asked himself as he was trying to look for any signs of HaeKyuMin. He didn’t really look beyond the tall bamboo plant behind him where Donghae was standing a few steps away from.
A few days after arriving, Hyukjae finds himself getting more and more bored as he currently has no projects and was feeling a bit lazy to go outside and just explore.
‘HaeKyuMin won an award again for their newly-released single entitled “Reset”. Congratulations to the boys. Keep up the good work!’ Hyukjae continued watching the news after hearing that. He suddenly regrets not being able to take a picture of HaeKyuMin.
“Oh well. There’s always a ‘next time’… I really wanted to take a picture of them, though..especially Donghae…” Hyukjae said to himself as he shifted to his left.
“Ahhhh~ home sweet home!” Hyukjae said as he stood up from the couch and unpacked the rest of his luggage. He walks to the kitchen, hoping to find food.
‘Pop sensation Junsu has just finished filming for his music video for his latest single “You’re Mine” and in recent interviews said that he will go back to his homeland to promote his latest album’ the news reporter stated with a rather happy mood.
“Ahh~ Junsu…” Hyukjae murmured while drinking his cup of strawberry milk.
People don’t know the fact that Junsu was actually one of the reasons why Hyukjae decided to further pursue his dream of becoming a professional photographer. Junsu was his best friend for more than half of his life, and he still is. Junsu wanted to be a model back in high school, but never did tell Hyukjae why. Hyukjae just shrugged it off.
Hyukjae smiles upon hearing the news of Junsu coming back. After a few hours resting in his apartment, he receives a message from his colleague, Leeteuk, saying that there is a group he was assigned to take official photos of, but is lacking assistants. Hyukjae just sighs at this. He figured since Leeteuk is his friend, he might as well help him. So with this, Hyukjae packs up his gear and leaves his apartment to meet up with Leeteuk.
“Teukie hyung!” Hyukjae greeted his friend who was then sitting all alone in the coffee shop.
“Hyuk!~” Leeteuk waved his hands and greeted Hyukjae with a friendly smile, showing off his dimple.
The two friends talked on and on about how long they haven’t seen each other and about the project Leeteuk was given. After Leeteuk was finished with his coffee, and Hyukjae with his strawberry milk frappe, they left for the photo shoot.
“I really owe you one, Hyuk” Leeteuk said as they’re now entering a building.
“It’s okay Teuk hyung, I was actually looking for more projects to do here anyway” Hyukjae replied.
“Oh! We’re here. Now let me tell you about this group, Hyuk. They’re really famous, and having to be able to be their official photographer for this shoot is really a blessing” Leeteuk smiled as he opened the door. Hyukjae could only nod his head as he was listening to what his hyung was telling him, not really paying attention.
“Minnie hyung! Stop flirting with Kyuhyunnie for a while and go to the make-up room!” Donghae hissed at his hyung.
“It only takes less than 10 minutes to put make up on me, anyway. What’s the harm flirting with my lover for a few minutes?” Sungmin said, pouting.
“What’s the harm in that? Well, once Kangin hyung sees you flirting with your boyfriend, he’ll seriously kick your ass. You know how he hates gays, right?” Donghae said now concerned for his hyung.
“F-Y-I, I am not gay. I’m bisexual. There’s a big difference between the two.” Sungmin cleverly pointed out.
“Well, I know that, but Kangin hyung doesn’t really give a shit. As long as he sees a guy flirting with another guy, he considers them gay already. I’m just looking out for you, hyung.”
“Fine. You have a point there.” Sungmin pouts cutely at Donghae.
“I’ll be back in a few minutes, Kyuhyunnie~ Don’t miss me too much~” with that, Sungmin made a bee-line for the make-up room.
“How can you stand him?” Donghae asks Kyuhyun.
“He’s cute, hyung. And he makes this sexy voice whenever we do it and-“ Kyuhyun was cut off by Donghae’s hands, not wanting to hear more of the couple’s sexcapades.
“AH!!!!!!!!!~” Hyukjae suddenly shouted, pointing a finger at Donghae and Kyuhyun.
“Teukie hyung, HaeKyuMin’s the group you’re going to take photos of?!” Hyukjae faces his hyung, eyes wide and his mouth forming an “O”.
“Hmm? Yeah. I just told you a second ago that they’re going to be my ‘models’ for this shoot” Leeteuk just gave a questioning look at Hyukjae. The younger shook his head slowly before glancing at Donghae.
“So you’re Park Leeteuk? Nice to meet you, I’m Lee Donghae” Donghae moved forward to Leeteuk to shake his hand. Kyuhyun just following suit. Hyukjae still in awe at how the world seems so small for him to meet the trio again.
“And we meet again, Lee Hyukjae” Donghae smirked.
