CHAPTER 5

“Remind me again why you’re here, Kangin hyung?” Donghae asked the older man in front of him. Kangin insisted on coming along with Donghae to meet Leeteuk. “You know, if you told me you wanna take Leeteuk out on a date, I’d be more than happy to help you” the younger said while taking a sip of his mocha caramel frappe.

“What?! Who told you that preposterous thing?! Even though Leeteuk really is a beautiful perso- err..I mean..I’M NOT GAY! STOP STARING AT ME LIKE THAT! I only tagged along to ensure your safety. Celebrities these days get attacked easily by anti’s, you know!” Kangin winced at how Donghae nodded his head accusingly and was about to hit the younger lad, but was suddenly stopped by an angel calling his name from afar.

“Donghae-sshi! Kangin-sshi! Hi!!!~” Leeteuk waved at the two, startled at the scene before him. “What are you two up to?” smiled Leeteuk hoping he can somehow stop Kangin from doing what he thinks he’ll do to Donghae.

“Oh! Good timing, Leeteuk hyung, what would you want to drink? I’ll order for you” the pop star immediately stood up to give his chair to Leeteuk. After taking note of what Leeteuk wanted, Donghae headed for the counter, leaving  Kangin and Leeteuk alone.

“H..Hi Leeteuk-sshi..” Kangin said shyly while looking anywhere just to avoid Leeteuk’s eyes.

“Hello, Kangin-sshi. You know, you can call me Teuk, if you want? I’m much used to hearing that anyway. And I didn’t know Donghae was bringing you along, if I’d known earlier I would’ve dressed more appropriately” Leeteuk said, staring intently at Kangin who’s now blushing. “Are you okay, Kangin-sshi? You’re turning red! Do you have a fever?” Leeteuk slightly panicked. He moved closer to Kangin to check if he has fever, but the younger man pulled back from Leeteuk’s hands that were now inches away from his forehead.

“I’m fine.” Kangin stated, now turning redder (?) than he was before.

“Eh?! But now you’re as red as a cherry! Let me check your temperature!” Leeteuk went on trying to persuade Kangin to let him check his temperature.  Kangin just avoided Leeteuk’s touch as much as he could not really noticing a grinning Donghae by the counter.

‘I swear, Kangin hyung should be more honest about his feelings..’ Donghae thought. After paying for Leeteuk’s drink, he turned around not expecting to see two more people by their table. ‘EH!?! What’s HE doing here?!’  Donghae thought as he glared at Junsu from afar. ‘I don’t remember him having any business with me! And why the hell is he holding Hyukjae’s hands like that?! Yah! Stop holding his waist!’ Donghae flailed mentally as he was now approaching their table.

“Ah, Donghae-sshi, I brought Hyukjae and Junsu with me since they were at my place when you called, I hope it’s okay?” Leeteuk said apologetically at Donghae.

“Hmm? Oh, yeah, it’s fine.” Donghae sternly stated while grabbing a chair next to Hyukjae.

“Umm..I don’t think you two have met before?” Hyukjae asked Donghae and Junsu. He was oblivious to the fact that Donghae is staring like a mad dog at Junsu, and Junsu immediately seeing this kept glaring at Donghae and just smirked.

“Hi, I’m Junsu.” Junsu smiled menacingly at Donghae, offering his hand.

“Yeah, I know.” Donghae retorted. ‘Okay. Now I’m pissed. Who the hell does he think he is putting his arm around Hyukjae’s waist AGAIN?!’ Donghae thought a number of ways to dispose of Junsu right then and there.  He glances at Kangin and Leeteuk, the latter now forcing his manager to drink chamomile tea. “I think I’m a hypocrite” Donghae sighed.

“Ah, I forgot to ask you, Donghae-sshi, what did you want to talk to me about?” Leeteuk said, catching Donghae’s attention.

“Oh…umm..I kinda wanted to talk to you privately, so I guess now’s not really the right time..” the younger just bowed his head and sent glares at Kangin and Junsu for tagging along (He didn’t really mind Hyukjae’s company). Leeteuk’s widened at the sudden realization.

“I’m so sorry, Donghae-sshi, I didn’t realize..and these two suddenly visited me at my apartment, so I can’t really leave them there alone” said the older man. He was going to hold Donghae’s hands to show how apologetic he was when a pair of big, manly hands took his away from Donghae’s direction. “Kangin-sshi, what did you do that for?” Leeteuk asked Kangin, now fully concentrated on knowing his reason for doing such a thing. Kangin tried to make excuses to Leeteuk, earning a grin from Donghae. Their time at the coffee shop was mostly spent with Kangin talking non-stop to Leeteuk, and Junsu being all cuddly to Hyukjae, intentionally making Donghae grit his teeth for restraint of choking Junsu on the spot.

After an hour and a half..

“Well, thank you again for inviting me for coffee, Donghae-sshi, you just tell me when you want to talk to me privately and sorry again for bringing Hyukjae and Junsu along.” Leeteuk bowed and turned to Kangin to talk to him about something. Donghae just smiled and bowed as well. He walked towards Hyukjae immediately after just as Junsu went to the rest room.

“Hyukjae-sshi, can I call you Hyukkie?” Donghae smiled that smile of his. He didn’t really know what went in him at that moment, just that he was dying to spend more time with Hyukjae alone. The older smiled and nodded, making Donghae feel butterflies inside his stomach. ‘CUTE!!!~’ Donghae thought as he asked for Hyukjae’s number.

“Well, we better get going now. Thanks again.” Leeteuk bade Donghae and Kangin farewell, not really noticing Kangin’s lonely smile perfectly hidden by a fake one.

“Ahhhh, I think something’s wrong with me~” Kangin said unconsciously while staring at Leeteuk’s back.

“I know. It’s not wrong for a person to fall in love, hyung. It’s okay, I’ll support you no matter what” Donghae answered while staring at Hyukjae’s back. Kangin suddenly snapped and realized what he had just blurted out. “Eh? Who said anything about falling in love?! I am not in love with Leeteuk-sshi! I’m not gay! I..I…aish!” Kangin sat down feeling defeated while Donghae looked at him in an I-know-so-stop-denying-it way. “So…this is how Kyuhyun and Sungmin feel, huh?” Donghae just nodded, sitting down next to his hyung. “So, how long have you known?” the younger asked Kangin. “Hmm..about two months ago. I was just waiting for them to man-up and tell me about their relationship actually.” Kangin said about to light his cigarette. “Hyung, who’d be brave enough to tell you they’re gay? You’d instantly beat them up.” Donghae said, looking at the sky. Kangin hit Donghae’s head, “Hey, I’m cool, I can accept people like them, too” he said while puffing his cigarette. The two stayed like that until Kangin had finished his second stick.
