CHAPTER 7
They were a good few blocks away from the coffee shop where they left Kangin and Donghae. He wondered why the younger two were quiet and quite frankly, it was making him crazy. They were TOO quiet. “YAH! SPEAK!” Leeteuk was about to growl at them, but was stopped to do so when he saw Hyukjae’s cheeks as red as strawberries (minus the white dots) and Junsu looking pissed off. “A…are you two okay?”
“Sorry, Teukie hyung. Yeah I’m okay” Hyukjae finally spoke. He turned to look at his best friend and wondered why he was acting so weird. “Junsu-ah, you okay?” Hyukjae nudged the younger’s side earning a slight squeal from the dolphin boy, but it wasn’t enough to make him speak. They dropped Leeteuk off at his apartment and went to Hyukjae’s place right after.
Junsu had a bad feeling after meeting Donghae and seeing the way he looked at HIS Hyukjae, he felt his blood boil. “How did you meet Donghae?” Junsu asked, now staring at Hyukjae’s eyes as if searching for something, anything that had Donghae involved in it. Hyukjae just tilted his head ever-so-cutely.
“Hmm? I met him by accident, actually. He helped me look for my glasses even with a sea of fan girls back then at the airport. He’s really nice…why?” Hyukjae smiled back at Junsu, not really sensing the jealousy oozing from the younger’s body.
Just then, Junsu roughly pushed Hyukjae’s back to the wall and rested his arms in between the elder so as to prevent him from escaping.
“W…what are you doing, Su-ah?” Hyukjae winced, obviously hurt from the impact earlier.
“Hey Hyuk, what would you do if I told you I’ve always loved you?” Junsu seriously said while closing in on Hyukjae.
“I l-love you too, Su-ah..” Hyukjae answered, hoping that’ll do the trick and ease the seemingly annoyed man in front of him.
“No. You love me as a brother and I don’t want that” Junsu said looking down at the floor.
Before Hyukjae could even ask what the younger meant, he felt soft, warm lips smash into his. He then understood what Junsu trying to say and quite frankly, he was scared shitless. Not because of the fact that he knew his best friend could do MORE things to him even if he resisted, but just because he was scared. He was scared that he might not return Junsu’s love for him.
Just as the kiss was starting to deepen, Junsu pulled himself from the kiss. He couldn’t believe what he had done to his best friend. “Mianhe…Mianhe, Hyukjae..” Junsu said while gathering his things. Hyukjae, still shocked at how good Junsu was at kissing, didn’t really hear Junsu leaving the apartment.
‘Sorry, Hyukjae’ Junsu thought to himself while almost sprinting down the alley, without any care for the world. He had just kissed Hyukjae.
“Teukie hyung, have you seen Junsu? I’ve been trying to contact him, but he’s not answering his phone” Hyukjae tried calling Junsu for a week after the kissing incident, but to no avail.
“Nope, maybe you should try calling his manager? You know Yoochun-sshi right?”
“Yeah..but..he kinda creeps me out, hyung. Whenever he smiles I feel like he can see me naked”
“Eh? Ahahaha~” Leeteuk laughed his special-high-pitched laugh from the other line making Hyukjae pull the phone a few inches away from his ear.
“Well, right now, you don’t have any choice anyway. Besides, you’re just gonna call him, not meet up with him” Leeteuk stated.
“…..Okay..Call me if you hear any word from Junsu, okay hyung?”
“Okay okay~ I gotta go now, Hyuk. Talk to you later, ‘kay?”
“ ‘kay” Leeteuk ended the call and put his phone by the counter table.
“Junsu, you know, he’s worried about you. Are you sure you don’t want me to tell him that you’re here?” Leeteuk asked Junsu who was sitting at the living room couch, drinking his hot choco.
“Nah…I’m sure he’s still confused with what I did to him” Junsu said while putting his mug down on the floor and reached for the remote to turn on the t.v.
‘HaeKyuMin’s latest performance was really good! They’re taking over the hearts of millions-‘ Junsu instantly turned the t.v. off when the camera started to focus on Donghae.
‘Damn that Donghae’ He thought, not noticing Leeteuk coming over to the living room and sit beside him.
“You know, jealousy is never a good thing to harbor” the older wisely told him while opening his book. “Whatever..” Junsu lazily replied.
Hyukjae wandered around the street to take his mind off of Junsu and the kiss he received from him the week before. He was so immersed in his thoughts that he failed to notice the figure running towards him. ‘Why..did he kiss me? Wait..does that mean..he loves me? LOVES ME?!? No way…This Junsu we’re talking about here..There’s no way…’ Hyukjae tried to think of reasons for the kiss, finalizing on the thought that it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing and that it could also be an accident.
“Hyukkie~” Hyukjae was startled to see someone’s hand wave in front of him.
“D..Donghae-sshi”
“Drop the formalities, Hyukkie it’s kinda awkward” Donghae giggled, making Hyukjae’s insides feel fuzzy. He didn’t really know why but he honestly liked the feeling.
“Ah..okay, Hae” Hyukjae smiled back at the younger man.
“Good thing I saw you, I was just coming over to your place to ask you out for lunch” they walked side-by-side, not really sure where their feet are taking them.
“Really? How did you know where I live??” a confused Hyukjae asked, by this time the fuzzy feeling he felt before grew 10 times fuzzier.
“I have my sources” the younger just smiled, thinking he should thank Leeteuk later for giving him the older’s home address. “So, where do you wanna eat?” Donghae asked.
“You want to go out with me? As in like…a date?” he blushed making Donghae gush mentally on how cute he is.
“Yeah..I mean..if you’re free?” Donghae stared lovingly at Hyukjae and also blushed when he nodded his head and smiled.
They headed to Donghae’s favorite five-star restaurant. He tried countless times to put his arms around Hyukjae’s neck or atleast to hold his hands while they walk to their destination. After the third attempt, he finally succeeded. He loved how cute Hyukjae can be when he’s embarrassed.
They talked about their past and random things while enjoying the sushi and other Japanese cuisines in front of them. It felt like they’ve known each other for a very long time. The waiter who served them their food smiled at them like they were a high school couple, being so sweet and looking so good together. Hyukjae blushed feverishly at the comment while Donghae giggled a bit and grinned at the waiter, noting to tip him a generous amount of money when they’re done eating.
After eating, they head off to the park to talk some more about one another slowly finding out stuff about the other. They sat on a bench between two huge trees. It was picture perfect and Hyukjae (being the determined photographer he was) brought out his camera and tripod, put it in front of them and set the setting to self-timer. After a few more shots, he finally got the perfect one.
It was a picture of Donghae leaning over to kiss him, and him looking back at the younger man with a gummy smile on his face. There were leaves falling and the slightest bit of sunlight hit their faces perfectly.
