Semi-legal, non-politically-correct rant.

It has come to my attention that many women (even nowadays), caught up in planning their wedding, dinner, reception and making sure the carpet doesn't clash with the bridesmaids' dresses are (still) leaving everything else up their prospective grooms to sort out. The little things they simply could not be bothered with, like, oh; I don't know...the ( Read more... )

its actually rather [not humorous] funny that it was the complete opposite in my parents' divorce. everything was in my dad's name, but because of the way my mom seperated from him (basically he left for work one day, came home and mom had her new boyfriend kick him out of the house) he had a nervous breakdown, which my mom took advantage of to get more then 3/4's of his weekly paycheck in alimony and child support, the house, full custody of my brother and sister (I wasn't worth the fight my mom said) with visitor rights for my dad and her and her boyfriend (which was my brother's therapist) practically had my father in debtor's prison by the time the divorce became legal (they seperated at 13 and were divorced when I was 16 ( ... )

Well, I really am sorry to hear that. I'm studying British law though, though not American so I can't rightly say I have any idea what the situation's like over there. And it wasn't so much a "Oh the dick shafted me!" rant as it is a "Why the fuck're you so stupid, woman?" rant. All in all, it was exactly as I wrote it to be - a personal rant, and nothing more.

*sigh* Excuse me if I seem gender-prejudiced. I'm generally an equal-opportunity offender, at heart.

Also, do tell me if you want your comment screened. I realize you divulged a fair bit of personal information in there (my opinion only) that you might not want seen by persons you know/semi-know.

nono its fine, pretty much whenever anyone asks about my parents I reply with a 'my mom screwed my dad over in divorce and doesn't want me' response. Most of the time I don't really care anymore, I'm 23 not 13 after all and I don't have to live with that woman anymore (though I do have to see her 'cause of my sister) so I'm happy enough, but its just right now she's really pissing me off.

thank you for the consideration though!
