Spoiler: the Klan rides in to save the day. Part of this is making sure that those disruptive "voters" don't go getting any ideas.

The movie, true to the book, ends with statements of hope and celebration of the Human Spirit. Also, "If you strike me down, I will become more powerful than you can imagine".

Grampa Joad's done been buried. He had a stroke. Nobody kilt him. He had a stroke and he died.

Gramma Joad's holdin' on. She made it to California.

I shore would't want to be crossin that desert in a jalopy like that'n.

In Part 2, Montgomery Clift looks more like Tom Cruise, and the movie turns into more of a thriller. Ominous music.

I won't give plot details away, but someone(Ed O'Neill?) looking like Donald Sutherland steps out of the shadows and delivers Clift to Burr. Burr was hobbling around in this movie before he was stuck looking out a window or up to ( Read more... )

Not as much to say about this one, as compared to Sunrise.

Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, Shelley Winters. According to the trailer, this movie stands alone amongst romantic dramas. I guess. It's like She's All That, but with less Matthew Lillard.
