"You don't think Wardo was involved, do you? I mean, do you think..."
"No."
- But what if that was a lie? What if Mark realized that Sean wouldn't be good for the company in the long run and he and Eduardo planned Sean's downfall? What if the share dilution was a plot to fool Sean?
[Later, when he's alone in the offices he feels long fingers carding through his hair.

A/N: Halfway through filling this prompt I realized I had no idea what you really wanted from this. XD Hopefully this is something close.
They had run through the plan at least thirty times. It was all but scripted. Still, hearing those words come out of Eduardo’s mouth with such force and anger have him feeling shaken and uncomfortable, even hours later when he’s sitting by himself. He hears a door open, light, unhurried footsteps heading towards him. He knows who it is, but he doesn’t turn around. Long fingers suddenly card through his hair, trailing gently down his neck.
“Do you want to call the cops, or should I?”
Mark fishes his phone out of his pocket and hands it over his shoulder without a word. The hand not toying with the curls at his nape takes it, somewhat hesitantly. “Mark? Are you okay?”
His voice sounds so different now, so genuine-like it never happened.
It didn’t, Mark reminds himself. It wasn’t real. It didn’t happen

Eduardo makes a face. “I can see where he would’ve been good for the company, Mark. Obviously he has connections and Theil…getting him was a godsend. But-I wouldn’t have felt the need to call the cops if I thought he’d only bring good to the company.”
Mark nods, looking awkwardly at the phone in his hands. There’s a long silence between them, Eduardo leaning against Mark’s desk and gently running his fingers through Mark’s hair.
“You called me an asshole.”
“Mark,” Eduardo sighs, dropping to his knees and crossing his arms over Mark’s lap, looking up at him with a smile, “Please stop thinking about it, okay?”
“Erica called me an asshole when she broke up with me,” Mark hears it come out of his mouth before he can stop himself, even as he’s nodding at Eduardo’s words.
Eduardo cringes. He opens his mouth, and for a moment he looks as if he’s about to say something like a lot of people do, but realizes it would be a mistake. Instead he says, “I think you’re brilliant

“Mark, it’s going to be fine,” Eduardo says gently. “Chris is going to take care of everything, remember?”
Mark shakes his head. “He tried to blame you for the cocaine the cops found at the party.” Eduardo rolls his eyes, grunting flippantly, but Mark still doesn’t look at him, worrying heatedly at his lip.
“Mark,” Eduardo says, trying to call him back from wherever his thought process was taking him, “Mark, it’s okay.”
Mark shakes his head, his hand clenching around his phone so tightly his knuckles start to go white.
Worried for the safety of the phone more than anything else, Eduardo pries it from his grasp. “Mark, look at me.”
Mark lets out a shaky breath and obeys, and Eduardo recognizes the look on his face from just hours ago. “Tell me this isn’t about me getting into the Phoenix.” He feels something in his chest go tight

Why couldn't the movie have ended this way? Why can't this be true? Why?! *sobs hysterically*
All I want is for Mark and Eduardo to be together and happy and in love. Thank you for giving me a small glimmer of what it would be like if they were. I love Wardo telling Mark he loves him, and Mark being emotionally affected by what Wardo said to him, even though he knows he didn't mean it. Perfect.
