i have way too many fills that i need to work on, but my speech and debate soul made it impossible for me to resist this. debate jargon may make several appearances in this and i know for a fact that i'm having it include speech events too (because debate club always goes with speech team in my brain). i love you for prompting this, okay. just know that.File tubs hurt when they slam into you and anyone who tells you different is a liar who lies. Jesse knows that they hurt from one too many times of being caught in front of in the flurry that is his CX partner, Emma pushing their cart of tubs to the rooms they have to debate in. However, actually running into a cart full of them and having them topple all around him is actually a little more painful than just having them hit him in the back. There's a tiny debate going on his head wondering what's worse, the fact that once he gets up he's going to have to debate the topic, "The United States federal government should substantially reduce its military and/or police presence in one or ( ... )

I have no idea why, but you saying I do so hope just endeared you so much to me, OP. Don't worry, I shall continue, I'm just splitting my time before I sleep between this and my other fills so it's taking a bit. I love this idea too much to even think of stopping it.

oh my god, i'm so sorry i'm just now getting to post this, because i had it all written out a few days ago, but my word processing program ate it and i just now finally managed to get the rest of this part to sound the way i had originally meant. also, i am totally using the abbreviations for some of the events, but that's because at least in my experience, what actual debate/speech kids do.Andrew just gives him the biggest smile, like Jesse had told him his hero was standing in front of him and Jesse finds himself smiling slightly just from the sight of it. He nods, before realizing that Andrew can't see the nod due to Jesse's position and for a brief moment he kind of wants to hit himself for forgetting that before he answers with actual words. "Yeah, I do HI, which I could be better at but it makes me less likely to have a panic attack unlike DI, so I stick with it regardless of how awful I might be at it ( ... )

I'm glad you're loving it, since what an OP thinks of a fill I do always matters quite a bit to me. And if I don't update this coming week it's because I'm being dragged around to enjoy my spring break in ways that involve not being on my laptop, but I will most certainly update the week after, because I'll keep saying it, I love this AU idea and I have the best plans for it. (They're also very cliche and such, but whatever, Andrew and Jesse lend themselves to romantic cliches and tropes very easily.)

yes lol. everyone did theirs on the holocaust and mine was a monologue from fight club. it was traumatizing.
