I imagine this could go either way - either Chris and Dustin talk to him about it (maybe they hope he can talk some sense in to Mark) or the stalker starts harassing him, too - which would obviously raise the question who knows how much Mark still cares about his former best friend.
This is up to author. H/C, angst and fix-it-fics are my drug.

Maybe he still has a facebook-alias after the deposition. And maybe he and Eduardo met online and Eduardo obviously doesn't know he's talking to Mark. At first Mark might be merely curious how Eduardo's doing and so on, but pretty soon they totally connect and talk almost everyday and Mark realizes how much he missed and still misses his best friend.
And maybe he's so scared to lose it again, that he just can't tell him the truth ...

And Dustin just NEVER approves. He doesn't like any of the guys Chris is dating, he doesn't even know why. They're to loud or too quiet, too cocky, too boring, they talk too much or too less, they wear funny shoes, they don't like shark week, they are too possessive, they don't treat Chris the way he deserves, hell, THEY ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR CHRIS.
Brownie points for oblivious!Chris and even more oblivious!Dustin - and Mark and Eduardo being like: *head/desk*

I love that it's basically accepted in the fandom that Dustin and Chris' thing is Shark Week, even after only one line about it in the movie.

That always amuses me too, but really to put it in perspective, I think Chris only had like 3 lines total in the movie. So really, all we know about him at all (outside of RL stuff) is that he likes Shark Week and doesn't think the BU paper will publish anything about Harvard. Poor movie Chris. He needs more lines.
