I think in the long haul tactile books are way cheaper. You only have to buy a book once and you don't have to plug it in or worry that you'll break it if you throw it in a backpack. And even if you drop it in the bathtub you can dry it and flatten it with another heavier book. Plus if you can't stand the author you can chuck it across the room with impunity.
