The Age Old Question: What superpower?

Another discussion topic, though not as fun as the last one.  If DC/MK was short for DC comics and not Detective Conan manga, what superpowers do you think they'd have.  Why would you choose it?  And how would they use/abuse it?

My votes are:

Shinichi - Being Shinichi aka a great detective.  I want Megure to have secret aspirations to be Commissioner

I would go with:

Shinichi: Compulsion. This is more a sub-conscious ability than one that can be controlled. That's why murders always happen around him, and -in most cases- the murder sticks around through his deduction.

Kid: Matter displacement? (I'm not sure what to call it.) He can pass through walls, safes, etc to get the jewel & get away. He uses the smoke bombs so the police don't catch on to his 'gift'.

Ai: Chemical secretion. Her body can produce various chemicals & chemical compositions kinda as a self-defense mechanism, Which is why she's such a good chemist, and why she tries to control her emotions.

As I was writing this, I realized that X-Men (which I was basing mine off, kinda) was MARVEL, not DC. D'oh. Hope this is ok anyways, even if your's is alot better.

That would explain so much about Shinichi. But does that mean he likes to get jumped?

Kaito would do so many bad things with that power. :D Want.

I would love to see Ai's power as the reason Gin's hair is white. A little too much groping. :P

Marvel's just as awesome, though I don't follow it as much as I used to. I just got to thinking about superpowers. ;D I imagined if Kaito ever was granted superpowers, he'd probably freak out a little at first. The idea of X-ray vision kicking in while he's staring at Shinichi kept me on that train of thought.

Shinichi: I see him more like a badass normal. Like Batman, he uses gadgets to achieve his means.

Kaito: Er... short-range distance teleportation or the ability to grow wings at will ? I don't know, I feel like he belongs to the sky... as for the former, well, I wanted to limit his range. It would be too much if he could teleport himself anywhere he want, though it's Kid we're talking abut, he will more likely try and go beyond the bounds, hehe.

Heiji: Prescience ? He can see the future when something bad might happen to his friends ? I know it isn't so much of a superpower but that's because of what happened with Conan once I think that power fit...

Ran: a sort of Supergirl minus the eyes that have X-rays vision and can throw laserbeam and the ability to fly ? She can daunt and overthrow every criminals who try and user her as a bait that way.

... I miss watching the old Batman series now.

Shinichi's already pretty badass, but he really needs to be a bit better at protecting himself. Agreed. Everyone else has kendo, karate, etc. He kicks soccer balls. Not fair.

More and more, I think giving Kaito superpowers is a horrible, reality wrecking idea considering how crazy he already is. :P

Heiji really could use that with a best friend like Kudo. I half think he already has a bit of it.

Ran would be awesome. I'd love to see that. And since Shinichi's usually smart enough to not piss her off, evil doers (who want to attack her boyfriend) beware!

I remember reading a KaiShin fanfiction some years ago where each of the characters had some sort of elemental powers. I actually forgot who had which, but I vaguely remember Hattori being the guy who controlled water

I like that power for Shinichi. That would really come in handy for him. Kaito on the other hand, I'm just frightened about what he might do with those powers. As soon as you mentioned magic, I had a mental image of him stealing Akako's crystal ball/magic stuff and doing horrible things with them.

Hattori is definitely a fire type. I'd see Shinichi as water, Kaito as wind, and Hakuba as earth if they were doing elements.

Ai's a scary, scary short person. She does not need any more help being badass. :P

I'd love to see Kaito flirting with/helping Shinichi and messing with Hakuba and Hattori at the same time. :D Jealous, overprotective Kaito is always a lot of fun.

*coughs* Did you know that I was tossing around an idea? XD While trying to think up a plot for my HeiKaiShin fic, this came up. I don't know how well it fits, but here's what I can remember off the top of my head

Heiji already did have that bit of pre cog about Conan getting stabbed (and getting stabbed himself in the process). You could definitely stretch it into a developing superpower

If you haven't read the Hands Off manga, I suggest you do, and then think about it in terms of if Heiji had that post-cog ability. XDD It's good♥.

As for Kaito being able to control his power...not sure. XD Honestly, I almost think not, that he's just immune to all powers, but believe me, the super!contact he could have with Shinichi has been giving me pause for thought. Lord knows it would be some serious fun there♥~

Actually, I think it was only those three who got the powers. Gods, I need to dig up that conversation... *whimpers* It was something to do with those three being in contact with something (Pandora?) that activated/aggravated their latent abilities. But it was just a bit of brainstorming, nothing set in stone. Fun stuffs.
