I can relate to this post so much, though you expressed your thoughts much more eloquently than I did. I'm not afraid of dying either, though other people dying/getting hurt is a different matter altogether. Indeed, that feeling of helplessness as so many are suffering and losing their lives while you yourself are unable to do a thing...that fear as you put it, is really visceral for me particularly in times like this.
To be honest, I've felt for years actually, that something is going to happen in the near future that would change our way of living forever. I don't think it's an apocalypse though...at least, I really hope not. I'd like to be optimistic and hope that all of these horrible things happening will eventually lead to something really good. *prays* We've had enough wars and natural disasters in this world, it's time for a change. D:
These horrible things are happening a lot lately. The Maguindanao Massacre, Tsunamis and Earthquakes. It is weird how imperfect the world is. But I know the massacre and tsunami are different. But... I sfill find myself hating the people involved in the massacre more than I hate mother nature.
I can still remember Haiti too.
But I still have some hate saved for the helplessness that comes from how unpredictable mother nature is.
It would be too sad if it is the apocalypse. I admit that there is still a lot of things that I want to do. at the same time, I guess when the time comes I will accept that the time has come.
I hope you're right and there is a rainbow after this storm. I really hope that there is still hope for change...
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Matt. 24

the end of the world? LOL. not that it's a laughing matter, I just find the theories ridiculously so.
this certainly was devastating. Japan has stood up so many times after something devastates them---world war 2, included. I admire the people, there though. They are handling things unfazed but the nuclear plants are somehow doing their best to fuck up worsen the situation. But Japan is resilient. They'll get through this. :)
I'm optimistic this won't lead to the inevitable end, end-of-the-world theories aside. We'll get there. It's just, it isn't time yet. At least we're learning from all of these events along with Japan. That's really the upside. :) This is about the only encouraging thing I could come up with seeing as I'm not someone who's very deeply rooted in the bible nor religion. :/ though I do find the book of Revelations interesting in some way
I feel sad that I cannot complete my life, but I am not too depressed about my life ending. But I hate feeling afraid.
I keep reminding myself that they said the same thing about year 2000 and nothing happened. Maybe it isn't the theories that bother me, but also the things happening. Like Libya.
War might happen there. Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya. It doesn't make anyone happy.
I think that the one thing we can do about this is live life without regrets. At least when death comes, we're ready for him. I'm also afraid of death. Especially that of a abrupt and gruesome one. ever since journalism happened, it's been this way But we always have to be prepared for it

I told my sister, but yeah. You know how calm she can be. She just said, whatever happens happens and we should at least go happy.

Though, I am praying that nothing worse is going to happen.
