Don't worry about the points system. As long as I know how it works, it'll be fine. XD; all you need to know is what character you are for the first icon, and that you just need to submit a second icon too.

As for the textures, are we only allowed to pick one, or can we use as many as we like?
As many as you like, as many times as you want. You could use all seven, or just use two but duplicate them six times. It's up to you.

For your first question, I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure, just there's a couple of important things going on for me so I might not be able to. We'll see on the Monday. ^^

For your second question, I'm not sure what you mean about correcting colours, could you please clarify?

Also, are stock images (not really textures) allowed for the first icon?
I'm going to say no, because if you're using them in the same sense as textures it's not really fair, I suppose. Overall, no. ^^

With what you said you'd done, that's fine, because you're not actually changing the colour of said gradient/texture itself, you're just putting a layer on top of it. Overall, I'm probably going to say no. (I'm not too sure, but I think no, overall).
