I haven't been able to write much lately as I try to squeeze meaningful activities as much as possible into my life, so that I can feel it is productive, though at the expense of writing. So far though, life has been good. I seem to finally find the balance of work and leisure.

I get annoyed if people start talking to me in casual Japanese too when they don't know me at all. I don't mind if they use it once we know each other, no matter how much older I am than them, but it's just... rude to start talking to someone like that. I get that it can be hard for people to use it, especially if they're just used to talking to friends, but they should at least try, especially if it's a work thing!

Exactly! That's why I was like "er" at first when I heard what she said. I wouldn't mind if they use it too once we're friends, but if it were me, I would ask if it's okay to switch to Tameguchi but that'll be later on, not at first sight at all! I'm glad someone agree with me!
