I had quite a detailed post about my animation program at Japan Society, but I will summarize quickly and possibly flesh out later. Classic "too long; didn't write."
- Dai Sato is an amazing person with a great personality and sense of humor. His use of English is funny. I have a huge crush on him. We have interacted over Eureka Seven character design sheets. He probably thinks I am an obsessed freak. I kiss ass instinctively, I'm sorry if I scare you, oh great creative genius. ._. More on Dai in a later post at the end of the week.
- Watching Freedom every day. It's actually quite amazing. Everyone has "This is Love" stuck in their heads. Wonderful.
- Our group: Sunny (real name Sonia): Director. Zuzu (real name WAY TOO LONG TO REMEMBER): Scriptwriter. Anne (real name Lisa): Producer. Denisia: Line producer. Me: Character designer. Had to fight for it, but got it. I'm the oldest in the group. Zuzu and Anne are very energetic and talk a lot. Zuzu likes to hug me and bother me about my height. Bah.
- Best animation gets taken to Japan to possibly turn into a real ANIME. FUCK. YEAH. All other animations can bite the dust. Our main competition is with the group that is possibly doing something based off Umineko and Higurashi. The scriptwriter for that group is rather loudmouthed and, well, a 4channer. Browses /b/ in particular, apparently.
- Our animation is probably going to be sci-fi. Riding off my idea of virtual worlds or some sort of cyberpunk romance. I believe Agnes' group is considering something involving talking onigiri and pirate romance.
- I feel like analyzing EVERYTHING about anime now. Thank you, Sato-sensei. Thank you, Power Rangers. Thank you, Doraemon. Also, it may not even be possible, but my respect for Hayao Miyazaki's work has gone waaaaay up.
- I am considering a career in anime production. Yeah, that's right. Not the drawing of the animation, but the planning. That seems so much more fun for some reason. Or maybe Dai's that good at promoting his field.
