I found out yesterday where I'll be living in Japan! I'm so excited about it. I requested a smaller city in southern Japan, and I'll be living pretty much on the southern tip of the southern island (Kyushu). I've been rather busy so far this year. This is my last semester as an undergrad, so I've been working like crazy on my class work, of course. I'm working on a Beowulf paper right now, or trying to at least. You know, some books are amazing enough to read over and over and over, but Beowulf just isn't one of them for me. A falcon got hit by a car right across from the stadium.

For those of you who don't know, my university's mascot is a falcon.

I think that speaks volumes about this school, especially having it happen in the first week.

P.S. "Time's Fool: A Mystery of Shakespeare" is actually a pretty good book. Historical fiction about the Elizabethan era is so difficult to pull off successfully, but this guy has a knack for it.

It just stormed for, like, a minute.  Weird weather.  I hope it's warm & nicer than today tomorrow and Tuesday, I still haven't gone to the bay yet this summer.  I'd rather go back to NC, though.  The ocean is so much better than a lake.  Nearly every time I go to NC, I'm homesick immediately after coming back to Ohio.  I want to go back to NC so ( Read more... )
