Okay so, last night, we all got to see what happens when when stress gets the better of me and I don't think properly, right?
Audience: (resounding) RIGHT!!
Yeeeees. Well. After popping some Advil to soothe a developing migraine and putting the little one to bed, I decided to take another stab at it - it's not as bad as it sounds...REALLY!
Those on my main journal friend list would actually laugh at that. >.>;;; I am SO accident prone, it's not even funny anymore. MOVING ON!
Hey lookie there! A new blade and a chill pill later, and I managed to cut those babies out! *cue cheering section* \^0^/ The hot glue is pumped up and ready to go, so let's get crakin! In this image, I have the "Sai" already lined up perfectly with the blue print. Glob on some glue in a big fat stripe all the way down the middle of one of the foam sammiches. Go overboard. Top to bottom. About 1" wide. Copious. Amounts. Of glue. You want that sucker to stick for all time. (Did I mention high temp glue? I RARELY USE LOW TEMP!!!)
Line it up and press it onto the "sai". Make sure your frame isn't tilted to one side and that it's evenly balanced before you glue it on. Otherwise, your wire pieces won't be balanced later down the road. XS
MMMMMM....look at all that glue. Did you use that much? Hope so!
Flip it over. Line it up. Do it again.
Use a piece of paper to make a pattern piece for this little gap here.
Make 2 pieces out of scrap foam sammich .
Glue it in place and smooth excess with glue gun tip.
do it again here.
Keep doing that all the way around with itty bitty pieces of scrap to fit those little intricate curves until you get to the round part, and then stop. Then, wait for me to catch up. XDD
::EDIT::
as I catch up, I'll be adding pictures to this entry, like so:
I just shoved some leftover scraps in there and glued them in place around the wire. Might as well be thrifty! No one's going to see any of this foam anyway. :)
Okay! This step is done! I'm now working on the next one, so you might see another post tonight. I'm trying get as much work done tonight as I can while my mother in law is in town. ^_______________________^
