I don't think I've ever read a romantasy - when I was big into fantasy novels that term didn't exist. Thinking about my faves in the genre, mostly any romance plot was a sideline to the main story. Apart from maybe Katherine Kerr's Deverry cycle, which has a reincarnation love story as a strong thread. Hmmm. An interesting question!

i read daggerspell way back when, and possibly more deverry books altho that's the only one i still have. i'm not big into romance so i haven't read any romantasy either (well, one, which i kept hoping would be more fantasy but was very much a romance and if the romance had been more of a side plot i might have liked it more). it's interesting how genre trends - and marketing terms - come and go.
