I would try spritzing it with lemon juice and hanging it out in a bright sun for a day (or two...). Chlorine bleach is very hard on fibres, and can degrade them. That totally sucks....
Thanks for this advice. I don't actually have anywhere outside to hang things, but I'll bring it home with me some weekend and try that at my Mum's place.
Is it a lemon juice/water combo, or do I need to get enough lemon juice to entirely soak the thing just in that?
Was the undertunic white? There is a product by Dylon called "Run Away" which is specifically for removing red dye that "runs" onto whites. However, if you already tried chlorine bleach, you may have inadvertantly set the stain.
They also have another product called "Double Duty" which is a "fabric whitener and stain remover" which contains an enzyme to remove stubborn stains. This one is safe to use on coloured fabrics. Run Away is only for whites.
Another treatment that is supposed to work (although I haven't tried it) is to soak the garment in a quart of warm water along with a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid (like Ivory) and a tablespoon of ammonia for 1/2 an hour and then rinse with plenty of clear water.

...crap...
I'll bring it out to a meeting next term (I have class Thursdays this term, so I can't come out...) And see if Odette can offer any suggestions.

What is left, is the black and gray mold stains. All sorts of little speckles over everything. And the tunic was originally a light gray.
