Almost everywhere that offeres webhosting online will have provisions like the ones at photobucket. Since to law stuff, allowing people to look at the picture on the 'net is "distrbuting," they need that permission from you to be able to show your stuff online. What you should also find in the fine print is a clause letting them use your stuff to advertise for photobucket, should you ever get FAMOUS enouhgh for them to want to be associated with you (come to Photobucket! it's where Tsuki has HER stuff!). I'm betting tha'ts where your "stop using when practical" clause fits. They're telling you that they'll stop advertising the advertising campaign with your pieces eventually.
Devart's TOS are smilar, but ther submission fne print is what worries me. It's kind of icky. They also have some goofy choice-of-law and maximum penalty clauses.
if we have some time this weekend, I can go over both devart and photobucket with you. ... i DID go to hellschool for this sort of thing, after all. ^_^;;
B/N is on the way to Chi-Town, yes? Feel free to drop by and hang out for a few days. I might also have a rat-sitting gig for you--give me a call this evening and I should know more by then.
