Do you have any good cat pill techniques? we've got to give him 28 pills in the next 10 days so the less trauma on all of us the better.

Kitties and pills are generally a bad mix. Um... you might try crushing it up and putting it in some small tasty treat. But he might eat around it or puke if he's not used to getting rich treats like canned cat food. Did they give you a pill shooter? Those are kind of a pain in the butt, however, they can make getting the pill closer to the back of his throat easier. When the pill is in his throat, gently hold his mouth closed and blow gently up his nose. That gets them to swallow. Nothing is really going to be easy if the treat route doesn't work.

I've seen pill capsules made out of kitty treats at PetCo... they're hollow in the middle so you can put the pill inside it. Then again, if the cat's too smart he'll eat around it. I had a horrible time giving my cat pills, and I had the scratches to prove it, but once you figure out which way to hold the cat down, dropping the pill in the back of his throat gets easier each time. :P

We had to feed one of our cats anti-cancer pills for a long time, so we got pretty good at it. We quickly determined that holding him down and forcing it down his throat mostly got us bitten and he usually vomited up the pill shortly thereafter to spite us. So that's no good. We discovered that simply embedding it into wet food usually did the trick, especially wet food that is a sometimes treat (best example: tuna). Don't leave it on top of the food, the cat will see it, knock it to the side, and mentally laugh at your stupidity. Cats are clever assholes like that. Elita also informs me that some pet stores sell treats that have a pill compartment in them should you desire to pursue that route.

It's cool. I more feel like a dick for not saying goodbye, though leaving early was on accident. I appologize also if I've not been a good friend or been there enough during all of this... I mean, I do generally find out things last, and communication seems difficult with the bad phone area you're in, but I feel like I haven't really been there for you lately. So if you ever get the urge to listen to Dschinghis Khan with me and piss on pictures of Andy, just let me know and I'm in (you would have to supply the pictures unless you want me to just draw stick figures of him saying "I'm a stupid doodyhead"). Or if you want to get drunk and piss on coldstone or the place you work at now. Or even if you want to do something non-pee-related.

Anyway I was glad you came and I did enjoy the time we did spend together!

You make me laugh. ^_^ Plain and simple. Even if you feel like you're not "doing much", making me laugh really does help. And getting to see The Minja in action was awesome!
