That's Zuko for you! He kinda has to be hit on the head with the obvious. I mean both Katara and Toph had to tell him his uncle still loved him and even then he didn't seem to believe it until Iroh said it himself.

Wow, this is really interesting! I like it, and almost wish it was longer, but it works well this way.

Hmmm, I'm gonna have to say Zuko meets a friendly spirit. If only because there are some ancestors of his that were waiting 100 years for somebody to do something ;)

Yeah, he's got some ancestors who should be pretty pleased with him. But, well, Zuko wouldn't be Zuko if he wasn't all guilt-tripping and worrying. :)

Interesting idea, are you going anywhere else with this? It'd be a good read.
Also, not sure if it's intentional, but in the second paragraph, you mention that Mai is six weeks pregnant but also that the country has been aware of the pregnancy for weeks... so unless they announced they were going to pleasuretown I don't think anyone could be aware for weeks, haha. /nitpick

You can tell it's Mai? Yea! I was afraid the hints I dropped were too subtle, hence why I didn't crosspost to maizuko. ^.^;

Ooh, good catch there. I wanted to convey that the public knew for only about a week or two, but during the initial planning of the story I was already at 500 words and had to do some editing. So 'weeks' got put in instead of a more concise time frame. AfterI re-edited (again!) I managed to cut it down some more and totally forgot about that. I'll go back and edit it now.

Initially I didn't plan to write anymore on it and leave it as is, but a number of people want to see a follow up. It's funny, but I've got 12 story alerts on this oneshot on FF.net and it's only got 2 reviews. ^o^ So I might try and make a follow-up to it. I'm unsure though as I'm not certain I could do it without just killing it entirely. KWIM?
