I hope that you’ll continue to read what I write, even if it’s weird and awkward :D Now enough of that, enjoy the last chapter of You’re Not Alone! This is a rather short chapter, compared to the others, by the way ):

“Hyun-ah!” Donghae shouts excitedly, running up to her. Everyone else files in after the bubbly fishy. Hyun-ah, at this point, has been disconnected from all the IVs and tubes. She would be perfectly healthy, if not for the fact that she cannot move of her own free will.
“Donghae oppa…” Hyun-ah smiles; waiting patiently for the overexcited 26-year-old to reach her bedside. Donghae flings his arms around her, squeezing her tightly. “Ow. That hurts.” She says quietly, and Donghae immediately lets go, apologizing.
“So how are you?” Donghae sits eagerly by her bed, still as much of a child as before. Hyun-ah shrugs - this is one thing she can still do.
“The accident… it damaged my motor skills. I have to relearn everything.” She says tearfully. It’s upsetting to everyone, to see this girl, usually so vibrant and energetic, trapped in a bed and unable to move by herself.
“We’ll all come help you, Hyun-ah,” Ryeowook promises, leaning forward to hug her lightly. She smiles shakily at the group, thanking them for their support.

“Kyuhyun… do you think I could go home, just for one night?” Hyun-ah says sadly, after everyone else has left. Kyuhyun strokes her hair compassionately.
“We can always ask.” He replies, pushing the button for the nurse. She comes in shortly after, and Kyuhyun requests to see the doctor.
“What is it?” The doctor asks.
“Can I take her home, just for one night?” Kyuhyun asks. The doctor thinks it through seriously.
“Please… just one night,” Hyun-ah begs, desperate to stay one night at home, with the people she knows and loves.
The doctor sighs. “One night, and then you must come back for physiotherapy. Early in the morning.”
“I’ll bring her back,” Kyuhyun promises.

Kyuhyun sits her down gently on the couch in the dorm, draping a fleece blanket over her legs. He sits down himself, and pulls Hyun-ah into his side, helping her move as according to her requests. He allows her to rest her slight, shivering body against his warmer one. Hyun-ah sighs in contentment as warmth envelops her, cuddling against Kyuhyun to the best of her ability. When Super Junior walks through the door, chattering and laughing after having gone out for dinner, they see Kyuhyun, seemingly alone.
“Kyuhyun!” Sungmin calls, walking around the couch. “Do you want food? We brought some… home…” He trails off as he notices that Kyuhyun is asleep, and Hyun-ah is with him.
Kyuhyun stirs slightly, eyes opening slightly. “Sungmin hyung…?” He says blearily, arm tightening unconsciously around Hyun-ah.
“No… It’s nothing. Go back to sleep.” Sungmin smiles, hand brushing Kyuhyun’s hair back from his forehead. Kyuhyun murmurs something unintelligible, head dropping against Hyun-ah’s shoulder. Super Junior decides to pass the night in the living room with them, pulling out sleeping bags and occupying couches. And so they spend the night.

Physiotherapy is not easy. Hyun-ah works constantly for a week, 4 to 5 hours at a time, before taking a break to eat or just chat with visitors. After they leave, it’s back to physiotherapy for a few more hours. She works hard because she wants to go home as soon as possible, to be normal again.

Jaebeom comes to visit about a week later. “Jay…” Hyun-ah says quietly.
“Hey, Kelsey. Are you okay now?” Jaebeom asks in English. Hyun-ah shrugs.
“Better now, I can move myself, albeit slowly.” Hyun-ah responds. “Jay, where’s Junghwa? Why hasn’t she come to see me yet? Jaekyung and Eunjae have both come, and Taecyeon has too… so where’s Hwa?” Beside her, Kyuhyun stiffens. True to his word, Kyuhyun has been helping her with physiotherapy every day, enough that the hospital has simply allotted him a bed in Hyun-ah’s private room.
Jaebeom looks down at the ground. “I’m sorry. I didn’t want to have to tell you this.”
Hyun-ah looks panicked, clutching Kyuhyun’s hand tightly. “What…? It’s not…”
“She’s dead. Hyun-ah, she’s dead.”
“No! No, no, no, she can’t be, she can’t be…” Hyun-ah cries, burying her face in Kyuhyun’s shoulder. She knows it’s true. Kyuhyun strokes her back gently, eyes dry, but sad. Jaebeom buries his head in his hands.
“She… She died on that first day.” Kyuhyun murmurs softly, and Hyun-ah sobs.
“Junghwa… why, why you? It should have been me…” She cries pitifully.
“No! Never say that, Hyun-ah.” Jaebeom snaps suddenly, “It should not have been either of you…” he whispers.

She works even harder after that, for Junghwa. Junghwa would have wanted Hyun-ah to live her life to the fullest, and Hyun-ah keeps this thought in mind whenever she feels despair. Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Han Geng are all such blessings, they help her faithfully, until finally, 6 weeks after she wakes up, the doctor pronounces her fully rehabilitated.

Super Junior disbands in June of 2013. It’s a bittersweet parting, and they disband because Kyuhyun, Siwon, Ryeowook, Yesung, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Shindong, and Sungmin have all departed for the army. With Leeteuk still serving his 2 years, Super Junior is left with only 6 members, including Henry and Zhou Mi. They keep in contact over the years, though, still meeting up and spending time with everyone else.
Hyun-ah smiles slightly to herself, resting one hand on her stomach. “Be safe, everyone. And come back soon.”
“I love you.”
