you're not alone; chapter seven

Sungmin finds Hyun-Ah sobbing on the floor in front of the TV. He doesn't look at the screen, just kneels down, pulling her shaking body into his arms. Ryeowook runs out of his room, closely followed by Yesung.
"Hyunnie ah?" Ryeowook says, looking to Sungmin for answers. Sungmin shrugs.
Then Ryeowook looks at the TV, gasping out a hoarse, "No!" Ryeowook clutches desperately at Yesung, tears flowing endlessly from his eyes. Yesung looks at the screen, seemingly speechless once he realizes what has happened. He cradles Ryeowook in trembling arms.
"Sungmin ah... Look... Look at it..." Yesung chokes out, tears already clogging his voice.
Sungmin looks up then, studies the screen 'oh so carefully' and his eyes widen, he lets out a gasp. "Hyung..." He whispers, quietly at first. His volume escalates with each cry, until at least, he is shrieking their names.
"HYUNG! LEETEUK!! HYUK AH, SHINDONG! KYU! KYUHYUN AH!" He screams desperately, as though the members could actually hear him calling for them.
The only people who come running are Kangin and Hankyung.
"Why are you screaming?!" Kangin demands furiously, looking very sleepy. Sungmin abruptly stops screaming, cuts himself off in the middle of it, turning a horror stricken face on Kangin. Kangin freezes from the obvious despair on Sungmin's face.
"Hyung..." Sungmin gasps, lifting a shaking hand to point at the television.

Hankyung leans down, gathering Hyun-Ah into his arms, stroking her back, whispering comforting words into her ear. It seems to work, Hyun-Ah's sobs dying down. She leans into Hankyung, eyes rimmed with red and swollen with crying.

Kangin stares blankly at the screen, thinking of their four missing members. Leeteuk, their beloved leader: he seems okay, he's conscious and on a stretcher. Eunhyuk and Shindong seem alright, they are standing at the side, faces scratched. Kyuhyun... their sarcastic magnae. Kangin watches as Kyuhyun is gently lifted out of the wreckage, unconscious and bleeding.

Hyun-Ah tries to hold back the tears prickling at her eyes, staring sadly at Kyuhyun's unconscious body. The camera view shifts to Leeteuk, and they hear the shocked leader calling Kyuhyun's name weakly. Hankyung's hand rubs circles on her back, his other one wrapped around her trembling shoulders. Hyun-Ah looks over at Ryeowook, who looks back, lip trembling, eyes big and watery. Hyun-Ah feels the tears beginning to spill over again.
"We're going to visit them, right?!" A new voice demands. Donghae, usually so cheerful, kneels next to Sungmin, who is looking very pale. "They'll be okay." Donghae says stubbornly. Hankyung and Kangin agree, ushering the younger ones back to bed. Sungmin looks reluctant to enter his room and sleep without Kyuhyun there. Donghae pulls Sungmin along to his room, where Eunhyuk is missing. It is only just outside the room when Donghae turns, and everyone sees the silent tears flowing from his eyes.

Hyun-Ah curls up on her bed, huddled under the covers, crying silently. Her face is turned away from Hankyung, but he can see her shoulders shaking as she draws in gasping breaths. Hankyung climbs out of his bed, pulling back the covers on Hyun-Ah's bed and slipping underneath the covers. He pulls her into him, and she turns a tearful face up to him.
"Shh... I know that you're worried..." Hankyung says in Mandarin. Hyun-Ah sniffles. "Don't cry so much, mei mei. If you don't sleep, how will you visit him later?" He says gently.

Kyuhyun keeps slipping in and out of consciousness, Leeteuk tells them tearfully. Leeteuk has stitches all over his face and on his back, so he can hardly move. However, he ignores this, saying that he is fine, that Hyukkie and Shindong are fine as well. Kyuhyun, however, is in horrible condition. He was sitting behind the driver's seat when the accident occurred, and was the most injured. He has a fractured hip, pneumothorax from fractured ribs, and facial scratches and bruises. Kyuhyun is in the ICU, he has been since their arrival at the hospital, and he needs an oxygen mask in order to breathe consistently. When she hears this, Hyun-Ah's eyes well up yet again, with tears.
"Umma..." Hyun-Ah whispers, kneeling down next to Leeteuk's bed. Leeteuk smiles gently at her, looking very tired.
"Kyuhyun will be fine, Hyun-Ah." Leeteuk says comfortingly. He doesn't sound like he believes himself.
