Power Tools

Feb 27, 2009 11:30

Anyone know much about them? I want to get some power tools (Drill, Circular saw, impact wrench, sander, etc.)

I was thinking about getting this Makita set. But didn't know if anyone on my friends list knew anything or would recommend something else.

Thanks! That was the last little thing to get me to decide to go Mikita :)

Oh wow, you are going with NICE power tools!

I only know about cheap power tools. ;). Skil is a good brand to start off with if you just want something for projects here and there, etc. Lowe's sells them. I have their circular saw and it's bad ass. It was recently used to chop up an entire tree and it performed very well!

Good luck on your hunt.

Wow you cut up a tree with a circular saw!? Are you sure it was the saw that was badass and not yourself? ;)

Yeah I ended up not getting that kit and just getting the compound miter saw with the laser line and light. I'm SOOO excited for it to be here!

Well funny thing...I have an interview up in Lawrenceville tomorrow for www.cpooutlets.com who sell power tools including Makita. I would start Monday if I get it and I will let you know if there is any discounts that come along with that.

Yeah let me know how that goes. Hopefully you can knock some sense into them since they sent me a Skil power wrench instead of my Compound Miter Saw. The guy wanted me to be sure I didn't get what I ordered. Last I checked the two tools were COMPLETELY different in just about every aspect :)

Yeah I got the job. I'll let you know once I find out what kind of discounts are available. At the very least, you won't have to pay shipping since the warehouse is in GA and I can just pick them up.

Congrats! Yeah let me know cause I'll want to get a drill and a jigsaw eventually.

They do need some sense knocked into them though. My compound saw showed up yesterday and the box wasn't even hardly taped closed and open on both ends. There were parts missing and the light assembly was broken. Not to mention for being "reconditioned" it had saw dust and crap all over it. It was certainly used.

They're sending me another one but now I have to go through the trouble of filing a claim with FedEx and crap. Hopefully this one will be in better condition or I might have to visit your place of work myself ;)
