This is just for me to talk/discuss some of the concepts behind the Pretear manga!
- Okay, so I discussed this a little in my stats, but basically Leafe Knights are the physical embodiment of their elements (hayate is wind, sasame is sound, kei is light etc). They may look human, but ultimately they are not. They live in Leafenia and only use the human world for certain necessities (.... coffee....)
- Their ageing isn't even close to human ageing. (My theory is, depending on the amount of Leafe they use, they either die or they deage. Which explains how Himeno came across a tiny!Hayate just after Takako's defeat).
- Speaking of death, Leafe Knights don't exactly die. They're sort of like Digimon! When their Leafe runs out, they die and are reborn as children! (Which is what happened to Mannen, Hajime and Shin during the fight with Takako!)
- Leafe Knights can't be anything else but Leafe Knights. It's one of the huge divergent points of the anime and manga. Leafe Knights can't defect, Leafe Knights can't be anything else but what they are. It doesn't matter if the Pretear becomes evil or so on, they have to stick to it. (For example, if Himeno went evil in the near future, Hayate would kill her for the sake of the world. HARSH BUT TRUE)
- Saihi is more of a concept, the opposite force of the Pretear, brought into a corporeal form by possessing someone with intense feelings of negativity (but just like the Pretear, Saihi has feelings of her own, the same kind of depressing feelings that she uses at her disposal!)
- Their personalities seem to be shaped from their element (shin is a pacifist, kei is unerring truthful and blunt, gou is honest, sasame is passive etc).
- Leafe Knight don't have parents! (Picture. Hayate and Sasame. Raising kids. Think hard)
