[ History ] :
Jade was a child genius born into the Balfour family, his only biological family alive (as far as we know) is his sister, Nephry. He became close friends to Peony the Ninth, the Heir to the throne of the Malkuth Empire, and Saphir, who would become a God-General. When he was young, Jade started researching into Fomicry, which is basically cloning. As Jade grew older, he took on a fascination toward life and death, so long as it linked back to Fomicry. He took little care in altering the lives of others, until he met Professor Nebilim. She taught him everything he knew about the Fonic Artes, and fonons in general.
One day, his life was turned around when Professor Nebilim died. He tried to use the Seventh Fonon, and it resulted in it going out of control, starting a fire in Nebilim’s home. Jade had attempted to use Fomicry to create a replica of his beloved teacher, but he failed and created a monster instead. Afterward, Jade was adopted into the Curtiss military family. He swiftly climbed his way up to Colonel, and went no higher. Jade served his best friend, Emperor Peony, faithfully, and was looked upon with respect and trust by both Emperor and the military.
Many years later, there was a whisper of war between Malkuth and Kimlasca-Lanvaldear. There was also the problem with the Order of Lorelei, in which it had divided into two factions: one siding with Fon Master Ion, and the other with Grand Maestro Mohs. To prevent all-out war, Jade was sent with a letter from Peony the Ninth addressed to the King of Kimlasca. Ion was to go with him as mediator.
During the journey to Kimlasca, the two met Tear Grants and Luke fon Fabre. At first, Jade had hoped to use Luke as a means to stop the war before it even started. However, everything went wrong when the landship, known as the Tartarus, came under attack by the Six God-Generals. It was during this time that Jade’s fonslots were sealed, rendering him unable to call upon his stronger abilities.
The God-Generals had tried to kidnap Fon Master Ion, but they failed in the attempt. Although they failed on the Tartarus, the Generals kept harassing them on their way to Kimlasca. Finally, the group managed to get to the naval port, Kaitzur. Unfortunately, monsters had attacked the port, crippling the ferry that would take them to Chesedonia, where they would board another ship to get to Kimlasca. Arietta the Wild, one of the Six God-Generals, took the mechanic hostage to Choral Castle, which had been an old vacation home to Duke Fabre.
At the castle, the group acquired a strange Fon Disc. They were also able to defeat Arietta, and the mechanic was set free. It took a couple days, but the ship was repaired and they landed in Chesedonia without much incident. Since there was time to kill before they had to leave, the group visited Astor (pretty much the head honcho in Chesedonia) to borrow a fon machine that could read the disc.
After receiving the information stored on the Fon Disc, they were attacked by the God-General known as Sync. Luckily, the group was able to board the ship in time to escape him. They then settle in a room for Jade to discuss what was on the disc. During this time, he explained that Luke’s fonic signature (kind of like DNA, but with number strands) was similar to that of Lorelei’s, the sentient being of the Seventh Fonon (fonons = particles that bind atoms together, and each produces a different sound/color depending on their element. The six fonons are dark, fire, water, earth, wind, and light. The Seventh Fonon is basically sound, and the only way to use it is if you were born with the ability to wield it.).
Once again, a God-General attacked them, but it was a man who went by Dist the Rose, although his title is really Dist the Reaper. Jade and Dist bantered for a while, and then the group soundly defeated the General. By now, they arrived in Baticul, which was the capital of Kimlasca. The group was granted an audience with King Ingobert VI, and interrupted Mohs trying to incite war between Kimlasca and Malkuth.
King Ingobert’s daughter, Natalia, was able to convince her father to sign the peace treaty, but there was only one problem. They were needed at Akzeriuth, which was a mining town immersed in miasma (it’s a poison that can kill you if you breathe it in too long). Of course, the group couldn’t leave Baticul through the front entrance, since it was reported that Sync was guarding that exit. The group was also informed that Ion had been taken. So, they went through the Abandoned Factory, and Natalia joined them on their journey. Upon exiting the factory, they ran into a man named Asch, who strongly resembled Luke. He left them alone, though.
The group headed toward the Desert Oasis, where they learned that Ion had gone into the Zao Ruins. So, they navigated through the ruins, and faced off against Sync and Largo, another God-General. Asch and Luke then had a fight, but he gave back Ion so long as it meant that they didn’t fight.
After getting Ion back, they finally reached Chesedonia and took a ship to Kaitzur. The ship landed in the Malkuth territory, and in order to get to Akzeriuth, the group had to get through the Deo Pass. Right when they were about to leave, the last God-General, Legretta, attacked them. After the fight, she revealed that the God-Generals were doing something with fomicry (basically cloning, but it can replicate inanimate and animate objects. The clones are called ‘replicas,’ which is quite fitting).
Finally, they reached Akzeriuth. However, the town was destroyed shortly after when Luke followed Van’s, the Commandant of the Order of Lorelei and the one behind all of this, orders to use his hyperresonance (basically the equivalent of an atomic bomb, but it could also warp people). Having his trust betrayed when Luke didn’t own up for his crime, Jade made the decision to join Asch, along with most of the others, for a while.
Asch then took the group out of Yulia City on the Tartarus, and they headed off to Belkend. There, it was revealed to the entire group that it was Jade who created the principles of fomicry. At the same time, this person also let slip that there was something going on in Ortion Cavern that dealt with the replicas. The group went there to investigate, but Guy (servant and best friend to Luke) left them to wait for Luke, believing that he could change. Moving along, they discovered that Van intended to replicate the destroyed Hod. They left the Ortion Caverns just as an earthquake hit, which signified that St. Binah was about to fall.
Instead of following Asch and the others, Jade went to the Aramis Spring to get Guy for help, since Mohs had kidnapped Ion (again) and Natalia. He still didn’t trust Luke, but went with them anyway. They rejoined another of their team, a girl named Anise, at Daath, and entered the cathedral where Ion and Natalia were being kept. After rescuing them, the group decided to head to Grand Chokma to get help from Emperor Peony. They used the Tartarus as their ship, but unfortunately had to stop at Keterburg for repairs.
In Keterburg, the group met Jade’s sister, who was the governor. She then, in private, told Luke a little about Jade’s past. He knew that she had told him, and made Luke promise never to tell…or else the consequences wouldn’t be pretty. The next day, the repairs on the Tartarus were complete, and they headed to Grand Chokma.
Finally, they reached the Malkuth capital, and gained an immediate audience with Peony. There, they learned that Malkuth was being blamed for the destruction of Akzeriuth, while rumors went around that Kimlasca was somehow responsible for St. Binah’s plight, which was sinking into the Qliphoth (right below the Outer Lands, which are raised by giant Sephiroth trees, the land is in a liquefied state, and the miasma is everywhere). The group made their way to St. Binah, and worked at evacuating the civilians. However, they were interrupted when Dist attacked them with another machine of his.
After they won the fight, St. Binah sunk too far for them to reach the rest of the residents. Guy informed them that Sheridan was working on flight technology. With no other options, the group traveled there. After getting the aircraft, the Albiore II, the group rescued the residents of St. Binah, and dropped them off at Yulia City. Once in the city, they also found out a way to lower the Outer Lands safely into the Qliphoth. To do that, the group would have to go to each and every Sephiroth, and there were ten that held up the Outer Lands. One of the Sephiroth was in Akzeriuth, which Luke destroyed.
The group went to Shurrey Hill, where one of the Sephiroths was hidden. Upon reaching it, they discovered that Van had placed a security code to prevent them from using it. Jade was able to override it, but he had to give his instructions to Luke in order to do so. This was because he couldn’t use hyperresonance, but Luke could. Unfortunately, the people of Engeve were in trouble, as the area the village was on was starting to sink.
Once back in the Outer Lands, the group split into two groups: one would evacuate Engeve, and the other would go to Kaitzur to warn the military there. Jade, Luke, and Tear went to Engeve, while Natalia, Guy, and Anise went to Kaitzur. They had also decided to meet up in Chesedonia, since that was where Jade’s group would escort the people of Engeve.
The escort was successful, but then a new problem came up from Natalia’s group: Malkuth and Kimlasca were fighting on land about to sink into the Qliphoth, and the only one who could stop it happened to be in Chesedonia. They were about to go find him when they ran into Mohs, who told them that Natalia wasn’t the real princess. Ion also relieved Anise of being his Fon Guardian, and went with Mohs to Daath.
Then, they heard some rumors that something bad was happening at the Zao Ruins. Concerned, the group went to see Astor about it, and learned that Chesedonia was also starting to sink into the Qliphoth. They went to the Zao Ruins, and found that there was a Sephiroth deep inside. Jade then instructed Luke on how to connect the Sephiroths together, so that they could start a slow descent of the entirety of the Outer Lands.
After that was done, the group then went to Daath to ask Ion about whether the Score (basically the prophecy that rules most of the people on Auldrant (that’s the world’s name), but, in Ion’s words, “it’s only one of many possible futures”) said anything about the Sephiroths failing. Upon arriving at the cathedral, they learned that Mohs was only loyally (if fanatically) following the Score, and that Dist was playing both sides. They found Ion in the library, and he agreed to read the First through Sixth Fonstones (huge stones made out of fonons with the Score written on it. There are seven in all). By that time, they found out that it was supposed to be Asch who went to Akzeriuth, only to kill himself as well as the town with his hyperresonance. Luke was never mentioned in the Score at all, and that threw off the prophecy.
They tried to leave Daath, but it failed when Dist and Mohs arrested them, taking the group to Baticul for Luke and Natalia to be executed. However, after reaching the capital, Tear was able to put the guards to sleep, allowing them to escape. They crossed the Inista Marsh, taking temporary refuge in Belkend. Once there, the group learned that a physicist named Spinoza and Van were doing something related to replicas. They confronted Van at the Replica Research Lab, and learned that he wanted to destroy the world, and in its place would be a replica world. His reasoning for this was to bring an end to humanity’s unhealthy obsession with the Score. Van then left Belkend, and the group went into town. Asch showed up, and gave Jade a book known as Genesis of the World. Inside it, they learned that the Planet Storm was starting to increase in strength, and that it was the core of the planet that was causing the liquefaction in the Qliphoth.
In order to learn more on how to stop it, the group went back to the Research Lab to enlist the aid of a man named Hencken. Hencken and his partner, Cathy, agreed to help when Guy persuaded them to, since there was a rivalry between Sheridan and Belkend. They were then informed that they would create a device that could be used to measure the frequency of the core’s vibration, and the only way to use it was to get to a Sephiroth. Unfortunately, Dist had taken the Albiore’s flightstone.
Without flight, they were unable to get to any of the Sephiroths. The group then went to Daath to find out more about the whereabouts of the God-Generals. Luckily, none of them were currently in Daath, not even Mohs. In the cathedral, Ion informed them that there was a Sephiroth in Tataroo Valley, and agreed to rejoin them to unlock the Daathic Seals that protected the entrance to the Sephiroths.
The group then went to Sheridan to pick up the device. Afterward, they went to Tataroo Valley, and were able to get to the Sephiroth without much interruption. Jade gave Luke more instructions on what to do at that tree, and then measured the core frequency. They left and went back to Sheridan, and formulated a plan with the researchers there. The group also decided to gain joint assistance from Kimlasca and Malkuth to lower the Outer Lands.
They went to Baticul first to convince King Ingobert. It took a couple threats from Jade, and a convincing speech made by Luke and Natalia in order to get him to agree the next day, much to Mohs’ frustration. After that, they went and talked to Peony about the peace treaty, all of them agreeing to have it take place in Yulia City, since Daath was out of the question.
With that out of the way, the group went to Daath to get the flightstone back. Anise got hit in the head by a letter from Dist, which practically told them that the stone was there in the cathedral, and Jade decided to just leave him there to freeze to death. Dist not being in Daath confirmed what they suspected, and were able to reacquire the flightstone. After placing it back on the Albiore, Ion then told them that it would be best to tell Astor about what was going on. After telling him, they went to Yulia City, and the peace treaty between Kimlasca and Malkuth was finally signed.
Afterward, they went to Sheridan for an update on what was happening to the core. The plan was to use the Tartarus to stabilize the core. They would outfit it with fontech (fonic technology) that would prevent it from getting destroyed because of the pressure, but it would only last for 136 hours. To get out, there was a glyph on the deck that would generate an air current strong enough to get the Albiore out. The Albiore was also given a bit of fontech to keep the pressure stabilized, but this would last for only five hours.
Unfortunately, the God-Generals and Van did not want them doing that. They attacked Sheridan, and the citizens sacrificed themselves to give Luke and the others time to get to the Tartarus at Port Sheridan. It was at the port that they realized that Spinoza had sold out his friends to Van, resulting in most of their deaths. Only one of his friends survived.
Although they were able to get to the core, Sync appeared and claimed that he had erased the glyph they needed. After defeating him, they realized that he was a replica of Ion. Still hateful toward them, Sync fell off of the Tartarus and into the core, presumably dead. Jade, with help from Luke and Tear, redrew the glyph, and they were able to get out safely. However, before they left on the Albiore, Lorelei took over Tear’s body. Concerned with her health, they traveled to Belkend to see a doctor.
Before the group spoke to the doctor, they delivered a report to the governor of Belkend. After that, they had Tear checked out, only to find that the miasma had contaminated her blood fonons. This was because Seventh Fonists (people who could control the Seventh Fonon) absorbed the Seventh Fonon into their body, as well as dispelling it. Tear had absorbed at least ten times the amount an average Seventh Fonist would in a lifetime. It was very likely that if she continued to help lower the Sephiroths, she would die.
Tear continued to help them with the Sephiroth issue, and was given medicine to help ease the pain. With that, they went to the Meggiora Highlands, and lowered the Sephiroth there. Jade had given Tear a device that would measure her blood fonons, and they confirmed that it was, indeed, a contamination of the Seventh Fonon that was making her so sick. He also theorized that they could use Auldrant’s gravity to contain the miasma, but they would need an expert to confirm such a thing. So, the group went to Belkend, and forced Spinoza to research the idea for them under 24-hour surveillance.
After that, they went to Daath for the next Sephiroth. They took a passageway that led to Mt. Zaleho, an active volcano, and lowered that Sephiroth. That finished, the group went back to Belkend to check up on Spinoza’s progress. He confirmed Jade’s theory of using the gravity, saying that it should work. With that happy thought, the group rested at the inn, only to find that Tear had gone with Asch to Ortion Cavern.
The group followed her trail, and found out that Van was planning to use Asch to end the world. Tear had tried, and failed, to convince him to stop such an extreme idea. After all was said and done, the group traveled to Keterburg to get to Mt. Roneal. First, they had to visit Jade’s sister, who informed them that Dist was in the Keterburg Hotel. Jade then…politely…asked Dist about Roneal, but only after everyone else waited outside for him. They then learned that Legretta, Arietta, and Largo were waiting for them on Mount Roneal, but went there anyway since the Sephiroth was also there.
At Mt. Roneal, they did, indeed, run into the three God-Generals, but they were prepared for the battle. Although the group won, the battle had stirred up enough of a disturbance to cause an avalanche. The Generals fell into the ravine, while everyone else was fortunate enough to land right near the entrance to the Sephiroth. After lowering it, they discovered that Van had tampered with the trees to cause the flow of fonons to go in reverse, and that everything would be lowered except for the Absorption Gate. If that happened, then all of Auldrant would be destroyed, and Van would be able to realize his goal.
They all decided that it was best to head to the Absorption Gate. There, the group confronted and defeated Van, who fell into the core. Luke, with Asch’s help from the Radiation Gate, was then able to safely lower the Outer Lands into the Qliphoth, and the world was saved.
A month after that, things started going wrong again. The Planet Storm was starting to increase in intensity, and Van’s sword (which had been stuck in the ground at the Absorption Gate) had disappeared. Jade was at St. Binah when he rejoined Luke and the gang, informing them that Malkuth’s training force had been attacked. The wounded managed to get to St. Binah, but they needed to be transported over to Grand Chokma for treatment. Upon arriving at Malkuth’s capital, General Frings, a man fatally wounded during the attack, informed them that the people responsible had been wearing the Kimlascan colors.
Before leaving Grand Chokma to get to Baticul, the group was able to get an audience with Emperor Peony, confirming that Van was, indeed, alive. The only one with any answers was Asch, so the group decided to chase after him. However, they first had to go to Baticul to confirm that Kimlasca was being framed. King Ingobert and Natalia both denied that the attack on the Malkuth forces was on their orders.
The group then went back to Daath, only to have Tear collapse. They walked her to the cathedral for her to rest in Ion’s room. Unfortunately, Anise told them that the miasma was everywhere, and took Ion with her. The group left the room, only to be surrounded by Legretta and the Oracle Knights. Surprisingly, Arietta came to their rescue, telling them that Ion was going to read the Planet Score, which would kill him.
They rushed over to the passageway that would lead to Mt. Zaleho, and found that Anise had been Mohs’ spy for a long time. However, the group quickly found out that she was doing it against her will, for Mohs had taken her parents hostage. Unable to warp to Mt. Zaleho, they used the Albiore to fly over to the volcano. By the time they got to where Ion, Mohs, and Anise were, they were too late. Ion had read the Planet Score, and with his last bit of strength, managed to cure Tear of her affliction.
After that, the group went to Belkend, and saw someone die right in front of their eyes. They discovered that there was a Scorer (prophet) going around, and sometime after getting the Score read to them, the person would die. Jade informed the group that it was consistent to what happened when replica data was acquired from the original. Only some of the originals were able to survive the process, with Asch and Luke being perfect examples. They also went and talked to Spinoza, who told them that the land was starting to turn back to the way it was, which meant that the core was starting to vibrate again. Unfortunately, it appeared that the only way to save the world was to destroy the miasma, and it was suggested that they could use hyperresonance to do that. Jade immediately disagreed, and when Luke asked, he informed him that it would take 10, 000 Seventh Fonists dying in order to get enough Seventh Fonons to dispel the miasma from the entire world. Either that or they were able to get their hands on the Sword of Lorelei. Even then, it would kill the person who used the hyperresonance, since neither Luke nor Asch could completely control it.
They learned that Asch was heading to Mt. Roneal from Spinoza, and the group traveled there to get some answers from him. Reluctantly, he told them that Lorelei was most likely trapped within Van’s body, and that the God-Generals really were still alive. Asch still wouldn’t join them, and they all left Mt. Roneal. The group then went to Baticul.
At Baticul, they were told that Mohs had been detained, but he broke out with help from Dist. The group rushed to the port area of the capital, and Dist used fontech to enable Mohs to use Seventh Fonons, transforming him into a monster. Since he was not born a Seventh Fonist, Jade informed the group that he would eventually descend into madness.
After that episode, Luke wanted to see King Ingobert alone. Everyone, except for Natalia, went with him against his will, and they found out that Natalia was the daughter of Largo. To confirm this, they went to Chesedonia to speak with her wet-nurse about it. The group lied to her, telling her that the Scorer might be there. Ironically enough, it turned out that the Scorer was actually in Chesedonia. The Scorer turned out to be Sync, and mimicked Ion’s voice to shake Anise up. With a depressed and pissed-off Anise, Jade suggested to Natalia that a tour around the shopping area would cheer her up.
With Natalia out of the way, the group was able to confirm that Largo was, indeed, Natalia’s real father. After reuniting with the two girls, they went off to Yulia City to talk to Teodoro (Tear’s grandfather and mayor of Yulia City). He told them that there was a large, moving mass that was consuming Seventh Fonons at an alarming rate. Jade suspected that it had something to do with fomicry, but wasn’t sure. So, the group left Yulia City, and landed on a moving island that happened to be passing by the city.
This was the Isle of Feres, an island near Hod that had been sunk by a tidal wave. They eventually wound up at a mansion, where they found Arietta standing in front of the door. She then told them that she was born on Feres, and only joined Van to regain the home, family, and friends she had lost. After Arietta left, Jade then shut down the machine that was making replicas. Upon doing so, there was an earthquake. When they left the mansion, the group saw Eldrant (a land spoken of only in legend) floating in the sky.
The group attempted to land on Eldrant, but the barrier surrounding it prevented them from getting anywhere near it. After that, they left for Malkuth to inform Emperor Peony what was going on. First, Jade went to talk to a man named Sesemann, who would agree with Jade’s theory of the barrier being part of the Planet Storm. Afterward, Mohs’ voice resounded throughout all of Auldrant, sending the citizenry into chaos. With the speech done, they decided that it was time for Malkuth and Kimlasca to really pull together to face the threat.
Largo then appeared before the party to tell them of a duel between Arietta and Anise. The group went to Cheagle Woods, and was able to finally kill Arietta the Wild. After that, they headed to Yulia City to inform Teodoro that they would be having a summit meeting to decide what they were going to do about the Score. There was also another problem: there were too many replicas, and the people were treating them horribly.
With that, the group went to Baticul to talk to King Ingobert. After informing him of the situation, Jade took the Albiore to talk to Peony. Once that was done, they were about to head to Daath for the meeting, until Spinoza ran into them. He told them that the replicas were all gathering at the Tower of Rem, and that Asch was planning on killing all of the replicas to use his hyperresonance to finish the miasma once and for all.
[ Personality ] :
Jade is as pessimistic as they come, but he’s also honest. He teases people relentlessly. In fact, not even the Emperor is safe from his teasing nature. Jade uses subtle hints and ambiguous phrases, gaining extreme amusement out of the reactions of others. He especially loves to mess around with those who have short-tempers.
He knows much, but shares little knowledge on anything personal or anything he doesn’t feel like talking about. Jade is known to evade personal questions by either changing the subject, or teasing someone so much the question is forgotten. He hates talking about himself, and can infuriate many people (especially Dist). It may be like pulling teeth to get any information out of him, but Jade’s knowledge is valuable.
Jade has a blunt honesty when talking about others. He will neither hesitate nor sugarcoat the faults in a person, plan, or system (government, military, etc). At the same time, Jade guards his thoughts with a mask of calmness, and a smile that never seems to waver. His patience and calm attitude also furthers to annoy people, which is a plus in his books. Jade also loves to point out his age, either to annoy people or to guilt-trip them into doing something for him. He downplays himself in a teasing or sarcastic manner.
He doesn’t seem to ever be concerned about anything, or at least that’s how he likes to portray himself as. If there is something that concerns him, and it is outwardly showing, that is usually a sign that something bad is about to happen. Jade is also fairly lazy, especially when it comes to explaining something. He usually has someone else explain for him, unless he is the only one who can accurately give him or her information.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
STRENGTHS
-Although strong-willed and sometimes (…mostly) coming off as a jerk, Jade can be a pretty nice guy…when he wants to be. Very rarely will he show his soft side, and even then he has to fully trust the people he’s with.
-He takes responsibility for his actions, whether they were good or bad.
-Jade’s a genius, so logic is his strong suit. And he likes learning new things. However, he likes dealing with the theories, leaving the machines up to people like Guy and Saphir. At the same time, he does know a little about operating machines, but he’s nowhere near Saphir or Guy’s level.
-He is perceptive, and will become suspicious if someone is doing something out of character. However, Jade doesn’t always ask about it, and usually doesn’t look like he suspects anyone.
WEAKNESSES
-Jade is extremely lazy in giving explanations, unless it deals with knowledge that not everybody should know about. He doesn’t share his thoughts, except for when he has to or when he feels it’s the right time to share.
-He has moments in which he is entirely too blunt and/or cold. This seems especially true when he suggests killing someone to save others.
-Jade’s past is a very touchy subject for him. He will usually avoid it, or, in the case of Luke, threaten a person to keep him or her quiet about it.
-He honestly can’t help teasing Dist because he gets quite a bit of amusement out of pushing people’s buttons, Dist and short-tempered people especially.
-Jade still doesn’t have a good grasp on life and death. He can suggest killing someone as easily as telling someone the weather. However, if someone kills without reason, or if the risk is too great, Jade will not hesitate to reprimand him or her. Luke is a good example when he asks about using hyperresonance to dispel the miasma, and Jade is against the idea because he feels that the sacrifice will be too great for any of them, especially Luke.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
ABILITIES
Fonic sight: Basically, he has a glyph inscribed on his eyes that allows him to absorb more fonons, strengthening his spells. However, doing that causes a high chance of the fonons destroying his body, and thus he wears his specially designed glasses to keep the glyph from killing him.
WEAPONS
He uses a spear if he has to do any physical harm. The Artes he uses for his spear are:
Sonic Spear: A super-sonic jab with a spear.
Thunder Spear: An upward thrust while lightning crashes down upon the foe.
Impaling Heaven: A jab, and then an upward thrust that sends the enemy flying. However, this second hit does not always land.
Sovereign Gale: Jade plunges his spear into the ground, causing a whirlwind to surround him to deal damage.
Primarily, Jade is a Fonist, or spellcaster.
Stalagmite: An earth-based, Mid Fonic Arte that raises a stalagmite to hit the target three times, knocking them up into the air.
Splash: A water-based, Mid Fonic Arte that hits the target from three directions with water cascading down upon them.
Turbulence: A wind-based, Mid Fonic Arte that gathers at the base of the opponent, and a strong burst of wind rises up to deal damage three times.
Flame Burst: A fire-based, Mid Fonic Arte in which three fireballs converge on the target and then explode.
Ground Dasher: An earth-based, High Fonic Arte in which earth spikes rise from the ground, hitting the target six times
Blessed Drops: A water-based, High Fonic Arte in which a bubble of water rises from beneath the target, and when it splashes onto the ground, multiple bubbles will rise up to deal damage within the area of effect.
Thunder Blade: A wind-based, High Fonic Arte in which a spear of lightning pierces the ground for a short moment, and then shocks the surrounding area.
Absolute: A water-based, High Fonic Arte that creates ice spikes to shoot up from the ground to immobilize the target, and then a ball of ice shatters the spikes to deal more damage.
Meteor Swarm: A fire-based, High Fonic Arte that is basically a random number of meteors crashing down on the battlefield.
Mystic Cage: One of Jade’s Mystic Artes, he can only use this when in Over Limit and while casting a High Fonic Arte. This attack will take the place of his original Arte.
Note: Not only does Jade have to say an incantation for all of these, but it also takes time for him to execute a stronger spell. For example, Turbulence takes around five seconds to cast in the game, but Absolute takes at least twice that time.
HIMSELF
-Jade is a Colonel of the Malkuth Imperial Forces.
-He is Emperor Peony’s best friend.
-He is responsible for ‘inventing’ fomicry.
-Jade is also known as Jade the Necromancer because it’s rumored that after a battle, he would go on the battlefield and take bodies for experimentation/research.
-He doesn’t seem affected by extreme cold or heat. Jade has gone through a volcano in his uniform and didn’t break a sweat.

[Have a damp Colonel. He doesn’t seem at all concerned about his surroundings at the moment.]
If I wanted to go swimming I would have better prepared myself for it. Oh, well. Too late for that, I suppose. But, really, the cold doesn’t do great things to an old man’s aching joints.
[Jade cleans his glasses with the towel he has.]
So. Anyone care to fill me in? Or do I have to play 20 Questions?
[He smiles.]
I’ll give you a hint: the former is the simpler, painless, less time consuming action.
[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] :
Q: Did I kill Vat with this app?
Com: This is the reason I hate writing histories.
Con: If I canon-update…expect a lot more in his history.
