Summary: AU. Things go a bit differently - Aang loses the battle against Ozai and death prevails. Nearly sixteen years earlier Sokka wakes with a start, again a mere babe and possessing a power he ought not to have…to distort the emotions and make others feel.

And the plot thickens... :) It's a very interesting idea, and I like your Sokka very much. He changes tremendously (as do everyone else) from the beginning of the series to the end, and I can't wait to see how the older, mature Sokka deals with the events of the first season and on.

I found this by accident, and has since then looked this up at least once a month - it's that good.
Please say you'll update soon, there's a shortage of good Avatar stories out there, and most not about Sokka. Who's my hero. :)

what's with having him born with his memories if he allows this to happen- the thing that made the fire nation come to his village and take aang- i thought he was to prevent that.
-and a bender of emotions/feelings? why.

why didn't he break aang out earlier- he'd have more time to learn and mature. maybe not be such a stupid child when it mattered. do it when the adult males are there- smarter than him- more experience than him- even with being reborn.
don't really see the point- maybe future chapters explain

The only event I think sokka would want to change was the death of his mother. It would to some degree, not have such a huge impact in the future. The fire navy ship with zuko, however, was essential to get things rolling. This would also be the beginning of their interaction with Zuko, which would also, in a greater sense, be essential for the future.
