Bible fic (Asmodeus/Raphael): An Easter Story, part 1

Jul 10, 2010 23:43

Surprise A/R fic! I'm trying to set up a separate journal just for my writing, and while going through fics on my hard drive, I found some Asmodeus/Raphael that I wrote in April '09 but forgot to post online. It's a rework of a crappy A/R fic I did back in 2005 called "Alleluia". Soooo old! *shudder ( Read more... )

pairing: asmodeus/raphael, biblical fiction

As usual, I likee likee. :-) I also love your choice of listening music. Oh, just out of curiosity, have you ever been interested in reading Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles? You really should, they're fantastic, and the reason I say this is because your writing Bible-fic reminded me of book five, Memnoch the Devil, which presents an interesting narrative about God, Creation, and the Devil.

Thank you! It was a deliberate choice. If this was a movie (or more likely a mature cartoon), this scene would have opened with dramatic views of hell and Lucifer's throne room while "Hysteria" played in the background. XD

I read some Lestat stuff, but otherwise not much. I shall have to check this particular book out now though. *is curious*

Ha, that would be totally cool! I like the idea.

Oh, you really should read the V-Chronicles. Anne Rice has a startling elegance and sumptuous writing style, and there's so much of philosophy and aesthetics in the stories, and so much history, too!

Yay! Fic! *dances* I like this take on Hell's reaction to Jesus taking the souls. They know there's nothing they can do about it, but they're not happy about it.

You are cruel towards him now, but some time many centuries later, you may be inclined to show more gentleness," the Son whispered cryptically. "And if that time comes, his willingness may surprise you in turn."

I loved that moment and the fact that Asmodeus can't remember what Jesus said makes it better, in a way. *grin*

Glad you enjoyed the fic! Haha, if high-ranking demons are anything, it's sore losers. Although Leviathan and Beelzebub are the more calm and composed members of the bunch. XD

Thank you! I was especially pleased with that bit of the story. I don't think I'll have Asmodeus remember what Jesus said in the future, but in this fic, it's a fun bit of foreshadowing.

I think most demons are sore losers. *smirk* At least angels manage to lose gracefully.

I like it, regardless of what you choose to do. *grin*
