So. Here is my Jason Mraz in Singapore story. xD... Under the cut, as it's been a long time since I've done a decent one.
Headed to the Indoor Stadium from MAGE. Felt excited but didn't express it at all. Yup that's me. Poker face, lolz. But anyways. Felt happy to be able to be at Mraz-man's concert again. Live + Mraz = I can die happy. :'D Met my sis outside, and went in. For the first time in my Life, I got seats extremely close to the stage; row 4, premiere category (ground floor). I've got my sister to thank for this, so - THANK YOU! ♥ Now, on to the concert.
That is how close we were to the stage. My brain started elevating from excitement. So I felt as if I'm on a plane taking off from the ground. And that isn't good when you're actually grounded.
Pre-concert excitement.
The big screen which I hardly looked at. ^^;;;
The best pre-concert shot of the group. Will you look at that full-up stadium. Sold out, baby.
Then the lights turn down low. The crowd goes wild. AND THE MAN COMES OUT!!
AND HE STARTS TO STRUM HIS GUITAR AND THE BAND STARTS PLAYING AND WE ALL STAND UP, GROOVING!!
His opening number was "The Dynamo of Volition", and it was the perfect song to kick off the night.
There's Toca, just as awesome as Mraz himself. In fact, as Mraz is always appreciative of his band, I love them too. SuperBand is awesome. 8Db
Lookit, "Geek in the Pink"!
He sang "Unfold"!! ♥
This song is just awesome, and I love this second single of his.
And of course, what would Mraz be without his awesome rhythm on the fly?
I love what he's wearing. Simple, casual, laidback. Awesome. Just, shave please. Lol. That's just my personal preference of men, though.
Everyone's entitled to an honest opinion, right? I think Joy Chua, as well-known as she is in the local Chinese music scene, did not much justice to "Lucky". Sure, she had little time to practice. But, I don't think her inunciation was all that great. Here's what I have to prove it:
I can't hear what she's singing. And let's not mention about what she's wearing. At least give her something nice to wear if you're gonna send her on stage to perform with Jason! D:
Another song from "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things". Come on, newbies. It's from his latest album. Please learn the lyrics if you're gonna spend money to attend his concert.
And here, I take a short break from the report to rant a little. Granted that music is for everyone and that all Jason loves to do is spread his music and message of love, I feel that the newbies just needed to learn a little bit more. All they knew were songs from his latest album, and songs that were popular on the radio waves. Nothing about his old songs were appreciated much. I get this often at not just Jason Mraz's concert, but a lot of the other concerts I've attended so far in my lucky lifetime. If you're going to appreciate your artiste, please love them whole-heartedly and not just because they're the in thing. By the way, Jason has 3 albums and lots of EPs. Do you newbies know that? And "Unfold" is not from his albums, it's from his live DVD. There's Wikipedia and Google these days. And if all else fails, there's that pretty little link from his latest album to his official website. Respect! I end my rant here. No harm intended, loves.
So of course, the crowd went ballistic when this song was played. But Mraz, you just impress me with your abilities again. ♥
Wha? Random shot of Mr. Awesome.
"Mr. Curiosity". Lovely song. The opera part is part of his album cut. He extended it, that talented devil. You have a gift, Jason.
Oh. My. God. MY FIRST MRAZ SONG! ♥!!! When he was singing this song, I felt a little of my courage seeping back in. That's the magic you give me, Jason. That Thursday, my guts level was at 20%. At this point of this song it was creeping up, and now I'm at 35%. That's impressive. Now I've just gotta keep listening to your songs on loop for as long as I can, and I'll be tops in no time! 8Db
The amazing Toca again~
The finale, "Butterfly".
Thank you for the magic again, Mraz. I'm blessed to have been able to be in your presence twice in my lifetime, and in the short span of three years. How time flies! Back in 2006, you gave magic in an intimate atmosphere (which I personally preferred), but this time, you still bring magic. Thank you for singing an equal amount of new and old songs, I loved the repertoire. Wished you sang "Plane" and "Please Don't Tell Her", but I bet you will do them the next time you return to this sunny island. May our paths cross again. Thank you for your gift and talent and love. ♥
OMAKE~!
Met up with bb Maya after the concert! This is post-concert happiness. :'D Keep shining with the sun turned off, bb! ♥
I'm still high on Mraz as I speak. Those almost-two hours of grooves with Mraz was the right pick-up that I needed. I am indeed, blessed.
