Late entry is late. OTL;; Nevertheless, under the cut is the first part of my trip. Had wanted to do everything in a single post but since this is ready... Enjoy! xD;;
Day 0
As usual, pre-trip jitters always get the better of me. OTL;; I checked my luggage and bag countless times, and couldn't sit still. Our flight was later that evening, and so I was waiting for my mom and uncle to return home from office before we made our way to the airport.
Once that happened, though, I didn't feel so nervous/excited anymore. We went to the airport, where my sis came down from her office to see us off. We had some light snacks and tea, and then checked in. Walked around a little, and then boarded the flight.
The flight was alright, considering that I began to feel excited again. I got hungry again, and thanked God that they served in-flight dinner. xD;; Although in-fight food is usually not good, I still ate it. Lol. In-flight entertainment was so-so. I listened to the Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. album - the first half of the album was alright, then I switched to something else. I was about to give up finding good music when I decided to try listening to Aoyama Thelma's Diary album. I did not regret it!
You will not regret it either! Alas, I did not manage to finish listening to her album. But I really liked her sound! I immediately wrote it down in my "To Buy" list before I forgot.
When we touched down, it was surprisingly smooth and speedy at immigration, and then we easily got to our hotel and checked in. We stayed at ibis Hotel (Nana), which is a nice little budget hotel tucked away in the streets of Nana, away from the nightlife.
I personally found the room nice and cosy, with basic neccessities. I kinda liked it! x3 Me and my mom shared a room, while my uncle got a room all to himself. D: Heh... I didn't pack some toiletries (because Bangkok is also FULL of 7-Eleven's!), so we all headed to the one one block away and bought that along with some snacks. :D
When we got back to our room, it was time to sleep (hehehe, 1am-ish), so I turned the TV on. .....LOL I know you guys must be thinking, "Shouldn't you turn the TV OFF instead??", but that's how me and my mom are. When we're overseas, we like our TV switched on throughout the night because the muffled noise comforts us. ^^;;; Luckily, I found Channel [V] Asia, and left it there to sleep. My mom was tired, and immediately fell asleep. I found the volume of the TV too loud, and kept waking up every 2 hours to lower down the volume. =A=! In the end, I lowered the volume till it was almost zero, and finally slept.
Day 1
Woke up early, and headed down for breakfast. I'm not used to having toast for breakfast. OTL;; My daily breakfast is actually just bread (not toasted), with butter and peanut butter and a warm cup of Milo. So I ate the bread without toasting it, which is a slight mistake, as it was a little frozen;;;;
While waiting for my uncle, me and mom took the mandatory hotel lobby shot! 8D!!
Day 1 was city shopping day! We took the hotel's free chartered van to the train station, but we got stuck in the daily jam. But it was so interesting to experience the jam in an open-air van. xD! We got off when we were just a short distance to the train station, and took the train to our first mall: the Emporium.
I found some CDs and bought some for my sister. xD.. Then we went to Central Chidlom, and got bombarded by the Chinese New Year songs around the store. OTL;; Well, what can I say - it was the eve Chinese New Year, but the looping songs could make me go crazy.
We then got hungry, and made our way to Siam Central. My uncle took a slight detour when we wanted to go to Siam Paragorn, saying that there's a street across the road that has stores for the youth, and a good Thai restaurant.
So me and my mom agreed and made our orders.
My uncle, the tour guide for the trip. HAHA! xD;;
Random shot before the food came in - I can't remember exactly what we had, but we definitely had Pineapple Rice and Pad Thai. Heh.
After delicious lunch, we went around the youth street, and I got myself a bag. D: Ugh, it caught my eye, because it's a big one, and had button/studs on it, and it's gray in color, and it was the last piece available! *pwnt* D8 Got it in a flash, and then walked around a little bit more before heading to Siam Paragorn. When we got there, it was actually just to get the air-conditioning from the heat of the afternoon sun. So after getting some drinks, we walked and found ourselves in the midst of a crowd.
For...
SS501's fan conference! HAHA excuse my super lame pose =__=;; I didn't see the band, but it was surprising that there was a crowd, but no pushing/shoving. It must be just me, or difference in cultures. ;;;;
Initially, I didn't know what in the world there was a crowd for, but after seeing this, I realized it. xD;; It was because I knew that SS501 would have a concert in Thailand, Bangkok during the time that I'd be there, and that was a fan conference before the concert (I assumed so). Unfortunately (and forgive me, double s fans), I'm not big enough a fan to want to attend their concert. My family quality time means more to me. ^^~
Look at how peaceful these fans are. They stay within the designated area, in the blistering hot sun, no less! All they had to do was sit down, take out their umbrellas and wait patiently. No noise. No pushing/shoving. I was quite amazed, honestly. Perhaps they were like that because the band wasn't on stage? Hm.
I turned and realized that even the train station was ready for the fans. They closed off an area directly overlooking the stage, and there was no one trying their luck or risking their lives to go to that area. Wow...
Hey look! Fountain! 8D;;;
EXCUSE THE KAWAII DESUU POSE OTL;; I was just happy to have started the first day buying stuff I liked.
Hi dragons!
Lanterns leading down the path from outside Siam Paragorn to the street level below. It reminded me of Chinatown back home, although I am ashamed to say that I can't remember the last time I was there. orz.
We then started to make our way to CentralWorld. Little did I know that God had something in store for me.
First, I started to feel bloated, so I thought maybe I ate too much for lunch. So we walked around the mall, checking stores out. Then, I started to feel discomfort, so I thought if it was because I didn't eat enough the day before, and ate too much, so.. Yeah. Possibility of gastric. So I carried on, wanting to go to B2S (Books to Stationary), the store where I bought loads of CD's back in 2006. I started to feel shitty, so we headed to Starbucks for a cuppa of something warm for my stomach.
Then things went downhill. I went to the loo, but felt worse after 45 minutes. I wanted to puke, but couldn't, and ended up with worse stomach pains. Came out, drank some hot chocolate, and said I wanted to go back to the hotel to rest. I felt bad for spoiling the trip on the first day, though. And we were quite far from the hotel at that time. OTL;; So just as we were about to look for a pharmacy to get some medicine for me, I had the worst feeling simply described as: "Need. To. Vomit. Now." I rushed to the toilet nearby, couldn't give an ass about how many people were in there, locked the cubicle door, TOO MUCH INFORMATION~~ and yeah. Puked. OTL;;
I always thought such a scene only happened on TV, when a girl drinks on an empty stomach. Or was pregnant lol. I never knew it could happen to me. ........It turns out my stomach has an allergic reaction to prawns. We had dishes with LOTS of prawns for lunch. T___T But they were so delicious! So apparently, my stomach doesn't like prawns that are not cooked properly, or prawns that are freshwater, or prawns that are bigger than the usual small ones. =A=;;
I did feel loads better after that, though. But still tired, so we headed back to the hotel, where I ate a bit of warm waffles and took my medication. And took a bath, ew.
After lulling to sleep for a bit, my uncle calls and asks if I'm alright to head to Suan Lum Night Market. ...OF COURSE! 8D... I love that place, I will walk out of it with purchases all the time. xD!! But of course, I did feel better. ^^;;;
We walked around, and I dropped by this store and this sweet lady was selling her own designed clothes and I couldn't resist this cute pair of shorts from her. x3 The lady herself was really nice, and I wanted to tell her that her clothes were really nice, but of course, me being me, that got stuck in my throat and all I could muster was a "thank you very much" when she handed me my purchase. orz.
We didn't buy much else, and still haven't had dinner, so we ate there. And this cute little thing came up to accompany us for dinner while a live band was playing. ♥!!
SHE WAS JUST THE SWEETEST THING! ♥ She just mewed and came up to us, and sat behind us on that chair quietly. She even responded when I asked her if she had her dinner. x3333
And that concludes Part 1. xD!! Part 2 will include the floating market, more shopping, and actually being barefoot.
