Mraz Day [29 June 2012]

Mraz Day. What else can I say? I even made a song in preparation for the big day (hey, I just rhymed again..):

"Oh it’s not hard for me to love you,
Hard for me to love you,
If only you would shave."

Hahaha sorry Jason, just had to do it..

Aside from his hobotastic looks, the concert itself was awesome!! I went with my mom, which is great, but I’m totally not used to going for concerts without my sister.. :’( What more for Mraz.. Well. She watched him first in Seoul - the Rainbow Island festival and it looked like she had a blast.

So I completely looked forward to his Singapore leg of Tour is a Four Letter Word. The place was our freshly opened Gardens By The Bay - in fact, Jason was the first to play at The Meadows there. The Gardens was okay, pretty and expensive. There were thousands of people there for the show, from all over Singapore and Asia. I loved the fact that everyone enjoys his music, but the crowd was huuuuge!! @_@;;

I met the Warner team at their booth, and gosh I miss them so much!! T_T!! After a short talk with them, me and mom went to get our spot on The Meadow. We brought something to lay on the grass to sit down on, but everyone was standing and well being short, if I sat, I wouldn’t be able to see even the big screens. I was disappointed that I was way at the back, but I don’t think mom would appreciate it if she had to squeeze with the phenomenal amount of people near the stage. ^^;;

Even though I knew my legs would suffer after the show, I stood for the whole thing. It was THAT good. I sang throughout the whole show~ I remember the moment when Mraz came out with the first song. It felt like finally meeting an old friend after some time! I loved the fact that Jason did a good mix of his older songs and his latest album songs. I loved it even more that I knew all of the songs. I wish he'd freestyle more and interact with the audience more like the last time.. Or even talk more about the songs he wrote in the new album, instead of simply going into song after song after song.. But hey it was good enough as it could get. It suited the Singapore crowd, and who was I to spoil a night I'd been waiting long for?

I didn't take many good photos during the show because I was busy enjoying myself. ;)

The Marina Bay Sands hotel overlooking The Meadows, taken just before it started.

I wanted to cry. Because. All that hair. T_T

The talented and pretty backup singer - as much as I'd love Toca to be there, she was just as good. :)

I can't see his face. And not to mention, as much as the straw hat is now his trademark (with lots of people wearing it during the concert), I wish I can see his face.

Haha, my knack of catching in-between big screen shots astounds me.

He sang [Lucky] with Singapore's very own Corrinne May - not a particularly huge fan of hers, but I think she sings the song better than the lady he sang with the last time. With a prettier dress to boot.

I can't - ..*facepalms* This, however, was taken during [Mr. Curiosity] - I'm shocked that not many people really sang along to this song. The opera moment - loved it! Brought my hair standing in a good way~

Thank you, Jason Mraz and your amazing band. May your love for music spread, inspire, and lift people - the way it has done for me.

Leaving the venue was a nightmare, with a massive people jam, threats of bridges collapsing (lol, random) and aching legs, getting lost inside the Marina Bay Sands Shoppes area, and a massive queue for the taxi - we were saved by my uncle who was thankfully in the area to give us a ride home. xD!!

I know this post is LONG overdue, but posting late brings back the good memories. 8D..?
Meanwhile, my "world as I see it, is a remarkable place". :)
