I think everyone's familiar with the recent fansubbing issue, so I'll just get straight to the point.  As someone who has been devoting what might add up to several full days of writing for various fandoms, I am throughly pissed.  So I'll post my MSN rant here.

I am but I wasn't saying directly ^_^;
My biggest issue with SBK is that they treat people like they had any authority over them or were of higher class or whatever. The only reason why I'm sticking with them is because I REALLY love TQS and I really want to watch the two last eps. Idk if Stormy are as up to date as SBK, if yes I'm definitely saying fuck you to SBK and watching THEIR subs instead. I totally agree with lady_mercury being ridiculous. She's just being rude/a dickhead and way worse than an elitist.
Idk if I'm just having a cooler-than-thou attitude, but I respect writers way more than fansubbers in the aspect that THEY would have a reason to bitch about people stealing their work. And really, if you sub for yourself, then why do you feel the need to share and be a bitch to those you're sharing your shit to? Seriously, WTF I'm so pissed. I'd watch the RAWs like I did for LF since I can understand very basic Japanese, but TQS has so much dialogue that it would be too hard to really grasp the plot and whatnot.

and idgaf what anyone says, SBK ARE ELITIST. If you look up that definition, they correspond to everything it says an elitist is. Go read my friend's open letter to fandom here where LM and others basically acted like everyone has to watch stuff in HQ, ahve enough space in the world to store everything, and have a good internet connection. Idk everyone lives in different countries and have different living situations so HQ, fast internet and space doesn't always work, hence why some stream even if it's not a good thing

Wooow. Yeah, they're so pro with attitudes like that, I'm sure we really want their crap now. (Hi, I came here at random^^).

But seriously, more and more nowadays, these fansubbers think they are GODS and that we would be lost without them OMG world!end. LIKE PLEASE. It's kinda sad for them because MORE and MORE of fandom is taking it upon themselves to learn Japanese, so eventually we're all just gonna watch raws and translate crap ourselves.

I mean, NO OTHER idkwhatyoucancallthem 'provider' of fandom acts as butthurt as them, yet I'm almost certain they get ripped off just as often. It sucks that people are selling their subs, but I think that's not even the issue for them because that sort of thing (at least for anime) has been going on for years, so truly, fansubbers just want to be elitist pricks.
