Can get someone's attention real quick if she wants it, but she's been pretty good on her own,

*bangs a pot at him, as the dogs start to swarm over*

*peers curiously at the pot, though he's not close enough to see what's inside. but with the way the dogs come herding around, more than likely it's something with meat in it. also left his chalkboard inside and arrived with nothing more than his book. not even a jacket; he doesn't really mind the cold*
