March 15th 2007's Recommen
Because school started to suck considerably less after Wednesday, here be report of the Recommen...three weeks ago, hahahahaa. Better late than never! It's long! And it's got pictures!
Yoko : Ah, Yokoyama Yuu, has without any mishaps, finished filming for his drama!
Hina : Congratulations! You’ve worked very hard.
Yoko : Ah, thank you. Tonight, a special guest has come…
Hina : Yes
Yoko : Didn’t he come? He did come.
Okura : Okura Tadayoshi here.
Hina : You kinda murmured your way in.
Guy : Hahahahahahah. (Gai-san, who works on the show. His laugh is a bit like Yoko’s.)
Yoko : Okura has come tonight!
Okura : Thank you very much.
Yoko : Why is that (you have come)?
Okura : I was thinking of honing my talking skills.
Yoko+Hina : Hahahahahahahaahahahahah.
Hina : When I asked you just awhile ago, you said it because you were free. >>Haha, busted.
Okura : Nono, well, there’s that reason too, but really, ‘learning to talk (better)’ takes up the bigger half, in me.
Hina : Really?
Yoko : Why do you look like you want to sleep?
Okura : Mmmffmffmff (laughing)
Hina : Ah, (let him off the hook), seeing how he took the trouble to come here…
Yoko : Mahh, besides Okura coming tonight, our new single is also about to be released soon.
Hina+Okura : Yes…
Yoko : At the same time, promotion for it…what do you guys think about the song this time?
Okura : It’s crazy catchy, and easy to remember.
Yoko : Ah, sorry for cutting in your talk, but when you’re asked to introduce this song, what would you say?
Hina : It’s a manly song…
Yoko : How would you say that…
Okura : I’d use the name of the song to answer… [zukkoke = odd, stupid, weird no?]
Yoko : Ah…I think the song this time is hard to explain…
Then he goes on to say that when he’s asked, he’ll just ask back “Isn’t this song perfect for singing in Karaoke?” and that he’ll probably use that so it will probably be in all the magazines next month. And Yoko continues to talk how recording this song didn’t take that long (within an hour) and complains how even though he didn’t sing in “Irohabushi” at all, recording still took forever because he had those rapping parts.
Hina : So, yesterday (the 14th), did you hand it over?
Yoko : Hand over what?
Hina : What?!
Yoko : AH! White Day, you mean? To [LadyStaff name]? Did you?
Hina : I did.
Yoko : How lewd/disgusting! [I…can’t come up with a good translation of yarashii…help?]
Hina : What? You are! We had a promise!
Yoko explains to Okura how there’s this girl who is part of the Recommen staff and gives them Valentine’s Day presents every year for 8 years now, Yoko thought he had given her something back each year for White Day but it turns out he’s only gotten her a present once. He and Hina made a promise last week to remember to buy her something for this week and…
Hina : I just handed it to her today.
Okura : Ehhh…
Yoko : What did you give her?
Hina : This time I really thought about it and bought her this lavender handcream.
Yoko : This wasn’t stuff you got during one of your jobs eh?! (He means those TV shows Hina goes on like Momoko)
Guy : Hahahahahaha
Hina : Nonononono.
Yoko : Really…
Hina : I went to Shanghai for work right? And got back on the 14th and remembered it was White Day, so I asked some of the staff what would make a good present and they recommended this handcream.
Okura : Ohhhhh…
Hina : That’s how it came to be…
Yoko : Uwah! How lascivious [again…yarashii]!
Hina : You’re the moron! You forgot didn’t you?!
Yoko : I didn’t forget!
Hina : Did you give it to her yet?
Yoko : …it’s not exactly…giving…
Hina : What?
Yoko : I thought…what would make [ladystaff’s name] most happy?
Hina : What did you do?
Yoko : I made myself exhausted just thinking about it, then it came to me, it’s me coming to work full of energy!
Hina : (sniggering)
Yoko : I thought coming here genki-ly, making her laugh or something would be the best present!
Okura : You’d only think like that for your parents no? >>Hahahahaah.
Guy : Aaaaaaahahahahahhahahaah.
Yoko : That’s what I think she is thinking.
Hina : Well, it’ll be fine if she thought like that…
Yoko : I’ve thought about it. The thing about me is that, definitely, is it talking energetically. It’s something I can do. Besides, she probably got lots of presents anyways.
Okura : It’s a little bit maddening (about Yoko).
Hina : You forgot again…
Yoko : Priceless (he said this in English, cute).
Hina : You say that after you’ve properly giving a present! Just bring it next week.
Yoko : I’m going to come next week full of energy too! < Hina : Of course you’re coming here! I’ll be here too!
Yoko : I’m going to come full of pep!
Hina : Ahhh, come next week. Right, so I watched it, “Vanilla Kibun”
Yoko : Vanilla Kibun…the first time a bit of our PV was showed.
Hina : Just a bit, the picture too.
Yoko : You weren’t in it right? Haha.
Hina : I didn’t appear (on TV), that was a bit disappointing for me.
Yoko : It was the first…those who didn’t watch the show probably won’t get this, but there was a picture of us with our hats…and Murakami and Yasu weren’t in it.
Hina: It was in the rehearsal room.
Yoko : They weren’t in it cause Murakami was the one who took the picture.
Okura : I see.
Yoko : And Yasu…it was “Where is he? Ahh, it didn’t matter” >> Poor guy.
Hina : He was always reading a book in some corner…
Yoko : Right!
Hina : It was so gloomy…(him) by the stairs.
Yoko : I thought this was good enough and took the picture, but then afterwards we took another picture with just me, Hina, and Yasu.
Hina : Ah, right before our lunches came.
Yoko : But they (the TV station) didn’t use it.
Hina : Ahhh, there were more people in the other one, it was more special
Yoko : I felt kinda bad about it…
Hina : I watched it, I watched it.
Yoko : It was fun.
Yoko : So, what are we doing today?
Hina : It seems like something…idol-ly.
Okura : I’m excited.
Yoko : Me too.
Hina : Well then, let’s do the title call.

Okura : Okura Tadayoshi and… (he’s suppose to say “Okura Tadayoshi’s”)

Yoko : It’s because you always say “and” when you’re here right? Yasu’s usually the last one (to wrap it up).

Tonight’s Project ! = The Road to Oldschool Idol!
This, apparently, came out of the show with Toma. One of the questions from the Toma quiz was “What kind of girls does he like?” and the answer was “someone with a nice smile” (Okura: Full points!) So tonight, the three of them are going to get quizzed by listeners who wrote in Idol questions with Idol answers. >>Basically, they’re going to learn and see who’s the most idol-ish person is. I think Okura’s the most idolish (normal) out of all of them, so my money’s on him. Any guesses before we proceed?

# 5 - carrying a luggage (or something big)
Yoko ask if they had a girlfriend, would they carrying stuff for her.
Hina would carry stuff when he’s shopping with his mom. <
Okura would carry stuff in a nonchalant way to look cool, not things that are small, but big things he would carry.
Yoko will of course, hold the big things, but he wants his girlfriend to hold the smaller stuff like his cell phone or wallet in her bag. He wants her to check if he’s lost stuff. He wants his members to do this for him too. < Guy is laughing his head off in the back.
Yoko continues to say how they don’t remind him anymore and wonders that they’ve probably gotten sick of it. Okura says they don’t do it anymore because Yoko would get mad at them. Yoko pouts that even though he is mad when they do it, he feels lonely when they don’t. << HAHAHAHAHAHA
Guy busts out laughing.
Hina calls Yoko selfish. And Yoko yells back that he wants them to see through the border line (said in English), since they’ve all been together so long. Then does an imitation of the guy who did Hakada no Shounen with him and calls them idiots. >> I HAVE NO WORDS, KIMITAKA…
# 4 - tying a necktie
Hina can tie his own tie, cause he did it a lot for Hagure (his detective TV show).
Yoko and Okura can’t.
Yoko asks if they have their own suits, they do. Yoko asks Hina how much his cost. Hina tells Yoko to stop talking about money to him. Okura, who went with Hina to bring the suit wouldn’t tell Yoko how much, only that it was from a brand name store. Hina bought it for someone’s wedding. Yoko’s never been to a wedding, Hina just that one time. Okura brings up that he went to that wedding too, that’s why he had to buy a suit, it was someone who has taken care of them=kanjani. They called Yoko but he didn’t come even though he had the day off. Yoko claims that he’s never heard of this (=PROBABLY DON’T REMEMBER) then changes the subject to how he wore sweats to dinner at a hotel with someone important and got yelled at by someone from Johnnys.

Hina does this when he’s doing sports.
# 2 - driving a car
Yoko says he wants a car, then turns to Hina asking him if it felt great having some many cars. < Hina reminds him again that his brother totaled his beloved car, so there’s only one.
Yoko says his brother did the same thing to their car and keeps saying how he doesn’t money to fix it.
They all laugh. <
# 1 - serious face
Yoko brings up how when the staff from television shows goes to see them in concert, they report back how Kanjani’s face looks totally different (more serious), Yoko muses it’s because concerts are their “professional job.”

Then Yoko goes on a mini rant about (I am not entirely sure I got this right but) he hates it when girls say that their special dish is meat and potato stew. How they do the calculation that “If it’s to a guy, then it’ll be fine if I say meat+potato stew”=“I can’t make anything, but if it’s meat+potato stew then I’ll make it.” And what makes guys most happy is not saying anything about her specialties and making food from whatever is in the fridge.
Ktaro: Because doing this, everything she makes will look delicious.

Yoko talks about how this is the first time he’s heard of an overseas offer. He heard it from Okura who was there at the press conference. Okura said that Johnny-san was there and said something about he wants biggerthanoverseas offer. Hina asks if it means he wants them to sing from space. < Yoko brings up that he will be on MoshiMoshiTours.

Someone wrote in that they thought/hoped that Nino would telephone-shock Yoko on iitomo… Yoko says that he told Nino he had work that day so don’t call him, but only he said it because he knows Nino wasn’t going to call him and want to avoid the awkwardness.
Someone else wrote in …something about beef. And Yoko talked more about the dinner he had with Okura last week. They both agreed it was very good. Okura says they talked lots about Eito Ranger (their skits I think, not their j-webs). And Hina adds that’s probably where 横山会 began.
Oh! Last week’s White Day Project = practice confessing on Yoko+Hina? Some girl wanted to get her old boyfriend back and she wrote back this week that it worked!

Yoko: Hina, do you have a girlfriend?
Hina: …girlfriend? What about you talking about?
Guy is laughing.

Someone wrote in how she though she thinks Yoko’s hair looks good right now, she watched Yoko on Shounen Club Premium and thought he does look best with blond hair.
Yoko says that he wanted to dye his hair as soon as filming finished but if he lets it grow for 10 more days after, it’ll grow 2 more cm’s, so now he’s waiting. He really like Yasu’s hair colour right now, so maybe something like that. Sounds like he suffered a lot with the buzz cut, they had to cut it once every four days during filming. Yoko is very sensitive about his hair. He’s even set a date to dye his hair, March 23rd. (He looks like a monkey right now, the cutest monkey ever of course)
Okura recently cut his hair too (looks really good I think) because he saw himself on TV and thought he looked nerdish. Yoko says no, but then changes his mind and says a little.
It seems that Hina doesn’t have time to manage his hair so he just dyed it all black (looks good, my, everybody’s hair looks great right now). Then Yoko brings up Michael Jackson, who Hina likes. Then they veer off to talk about how he visited Japan and it was crazy expensive to go see him blahblahblah.

A listener wrote in, asking them who they respect whom works on radio, there’s a “proper” answer. They guess a whole bunch, Okura (bless him) guesses the “recommen combination,” but Yoko gets the answer = Ktaro. They’re all “meeehhhhh” about it. Guy laughs in the background.
Someone else has, because of Okura, started to learn drumming.
Okura talks about drumming a bit, how it feels good to drum…Yoko tries to talk drumspeak but messes up the jargon and they all laugh at him. Then I think he says something corny about the heart and they laugh at him again.
Another listener, since liking Yoko, has noticed her own skin more and taken better of it. So it looks a lot better now.
Yoko says how he went on location shoot with Okura the other day, with no makeup and Okura noticed that he had a pimple. Okura got mad because Yoko kept saying “a pimple grew! Me! A pimple!” (because Yoko has nice skin and couldn’t believe that even he could have a pimple and Okura’s skin is…not as nice), and yelled at him to stop. Hina, hearing this, gets mad too, as he and Okura are in the “Bad Skin Alliance” (he just made it up on the spot I think). Yoko tries to soothe the situation by telling them that their skin has gotten nicer. They agree it has.

Tonight’s Project ! = The Road to Oldschool Idol!
This, apparently, came out of the show with Toma. One of the questions from the Toma quiz was “What kind of girls does he like?” and the answer was “someone with a nice smile” (Okura: Full points!) So tonight, the three of them are going to get quizzed by listeners who wrote in Idol questions with Idol answers. >>Basically, they’re going to learn and see who’s the most idol-ish person is. I think Okura’s the most idolish (normal) out of all of them, so my money’s on him. Any guesses before we proceed?

Yoko will of course, hold the big things, but he wants his girlfriend to hold the smaller stuff like his cell phone or wallet in her bag. He wants her to check if he’s lost stuff. He wants his members to do this for him too. < Guy is laughing his head off in the back.
Yoko continues to say how they don’t remind him anymore and wonders that they’ve probably gotten sick of it. Okura says they don’t do it anymore because Yoko would get mad at them. Yoko pouts that even though he is mad when they do it, he feels lonely when they don’t. << HAHAHAHAHAHA

Hina calls Yoko selfish. And Yoko yells back that he wants them to see through the border line (said in English), since they’ve all been together so long. Then does an imitation of the guy who did Hakada no Shounen with him and calls them idiots. >> I HAVE NO WORDS, KIMITAKA…

Hina can tie his own tie, cause he did it a lot for Hagure (his detective TV show).
Yoko and Okura can’t.
Yoko asks if they have their own suits, they do. Yoko asks Hina how much his cost. Hina tells Yoko to stop talking about money to him. Okura, who went with Hina to bring the suit wouldn’t tell Yoko how much, only that it was from a brand name store. Hina bought it for someone’s wedding. Yoko’s never been to a wedding, Hina just that one time. Okura brings up that he went to that wedding too, that’s why he had to buy a suit, it was someone who has taken care of them=kanjani. They called Yoko but he didn’t come even though he had the day off. Yoko claims that he’s never heard of this (=PROBABLY DON’T REMEMBER) then changes the subject to how he wore sweats to dinner at a hotel with someone important and got yelled at by someone from Johnnys.

Yoko brings up how when the staff from television shows goes to see them in concert, they report back how Kanjani’s face looks totally different (more serious), Yoko muses it’s because concerts are their “professional job.”

Someone wrote in how she though she thinks Yoko’s hair looks good right now, she watched Yoko on Shounen Club Premium and thought he does look best with blond hair.
Yoko says that he wanted to dye his hair as soon as filming finished but if he lets it grow for 10 more days after, it’ll grow 2 more cm’s, so now he’s waiting. He really like Yasu’s hair colour right now, so maybe something like that. Sounds like he suffered a lot with the buzz cut, they had to cut it once every four days during filming. Yoko is very sensitive about his hair. He’s even set a date to dye his hair, March 23rd. (He looks like a monkey right now, the cutest monkey ever of course)
Okura recently cut his hair too (looks really good I think) because he saw himself on TV and thought he looked nerdish. Yoko says no, but then changes his mind and says a little.
It seems that Hina doesn’t have time to manage his hair so he just dyed it all black (looks good, my, everybody’s hair looks great right now). Then Yoko brings up Michael Jackson, who Hina likes. Then they veer off to talk about how he visited Japan and it was crazy expensive to go see him blahblahblah.
Someone else wrote in about Hina’s non-answer about having a girlfriend or not.
Okura says that members could tell if someone in the group had a girlfriend.

A listener wrote in, asking them who they respect whom works on radio, there’s a “proper” answer. They guess a whole bunch, Okura (bless him) guesses the “recommen combination,” but Yoko gets the answer = Ktaro. They’re all “meeehhhhh” about it. Guy laughs in the background.
Someone else has, because of Okura, started to learn drumming.
Okura talks about drumming a bit, how it feels good to drum…Yoko tries to talk drumspeak but messes up the jargon and they all laugh at him. Then I think he says something corny about the heart and they laugh at him again.
Another listener, since liking Yoko, has noticed her own skin more and taken better of it. So it looks a lot better now.
Yoko says how he went on location shoot with Okura the other day, with no makeup and Okura noticed that he had a pimple. Okura got mad because Yoko kept saying “a pimple grew! Me! A pimple!” (because Yoko has nice skin and couldn’t believe that even he could have a pimple and Okura’s skin is…not as nice), and yelled at him to stop. Hina, hearing this, gets mad too, as he and Okura are in the “Bad Skin Alliance” (he just made it up on the spot I think). Yoko tries to soothe the situation by telling them that their skin has gotten nicer. They agree it has.

The answer Ktaro was looking for was “scrambled eggs and bagel.” It’s Yoko’s turn to get mad now, he’s sputtering how ham and eggs is totally different from scrambled eggs. That his answer of “bread” should count for bagel.
But alas, they’re all tied at 3 now!

Hina brings up that next week is the end of Yoko’s double booking (Recommen and Haikei are on at the same time), Yoko talks about how great it’s been to work with all these people and how terrific the screenwriter is. He really likes him cause even though he looks very intimidating he’s actually very kind and always has a smile on his face on set.

Ah, it's the shirt from the calendar shoot! I love that shirt! And the pants here are nice too! Really, though I shake my head at some of the stuff he wears sometimes -> weirdass different coloured leg pants (see...oh man, that show from January...Sugimoto-san hosts it too), I love most of it.
Ah...and of course, the people who hosted the show...
Hahahaahahahahahahahaha, I like to think those were the exact faces they have during Recommen that night. And you get to see the results of their hair cuts here!
And lastly, when did Hina get so ridiculously good looking?! He's never been bad looking or anything but gahhh, I couldn't stop staring at him in the latest episode of Honjani...
