Oh my! How horrifying!!!
I'm in a state of shock after having read that description. I cannot imagine how you must be reeling from that experience!!!!!!

Poor, poor kitty! I had a similarly horrifying experience with a cat we owned when I was in Jr. high school. I won't go into details (because it was also very heartbreaking), but I'll just say I can identify with the sudden loss. I can also understand having to deal with the only justifiable way to handle the situation being the decision to put the cat down. :(

I'd send a virtual hug, but only time will help you get past this one. So sorry you had to go through that.

ohh sweetie...I'm so so sorry for your pain and loss. That's really rough. *HUG* This is one of many reasons why none of our animals are "outdoor". The Valley is too hot, to pokey, too full of @55hole drivers that think it's funny to hit a cat/dog, bigger/meaner/stray's...
I've got a Care Credit loan that I'm paying off for Vesper's surgery a few years ago and Grimmy's attempted overdose on Arcana's med's.
I understand exactly how much love can cost.
Don't feel too badly for not forking over the money, it sounds like you did the better thing by allowing him to pass...Even if he'd survived he probably would have been partially blind, had trouble breathing, etc. There is a quality of life to consider. So don't beat yourself up too badly ok? *tomhug*

Sucky. Our Otto dog got into some. We were out in the desert when it happened. He is bigger than a kitty and didn't any in his eyes/mouth. He still got a little sick and it took a few weeks to get the spines out of him. For almost a year he wouldn't let me touch his feet because he thought I was going to pick at him and cause him more pain. Your kitty had a lot more than Otto did.

I think you did the right thing.
